it's only a simulation... it's only a simulation.

I have returned to American Truck Simulator. A game I have not played in 21 months. A long ass time.

This is genuinely a fun and relaxing game. A nice game to unwind to. Albeit with a few stressful near crash moments. The first quick job I played was from Phoenix to Kayenta, Arizona. At first I wasn't sure how I was supposed to leave. Because there were large crates in the way. Turns out I missed a turn. I was on a great start already! Other than that, the ride was pretty smooth. Although I did miss a turn around 10:43 PM which I guess I was just blind to see since just a few feet later it said it wanted me to turn left but looking between the GPS and the main view, I was confused about the turn. So I kept going and it recalculated me. Adding about an additional hour to my ride. Now of course the time isn't real time. I finished the job in approximately 13 or so minutes.

I parked the truck and after that, my next job was a trip from Barstow, California to Elko, Nevada. This is a 12 hour job so this one will be a bit longer to complete. The first few hours of the drive go smooth and we even make our way to LAS VEGAS BABY! Though I admit, Vegas sure doesn't look like the fun and attraction filled place I was told it was. At around 6:45 AM on the job, I thought I could just make a sharp turn at fast speeds... yeah that didn't go so well. I crashed into a road sign and flipped over. But thankfully my truck has flip back over magic technology! But... something was wrong... my truck suddenly started having electrical problems and couldn't go any faster than like 24 MPH. I visited a service station. I refilled on gas but I couldn't seem to find a place where I could actually get the truck fixed. I went in circles around the service station... just to find out I could press F7 and call for a tow truck to get me somewhere that I can get fixed up.

Of course where I was taken, added an hour to my route and by that time, I was well over an hour into the stream. So I had to call it for the night. Now I'll use the excuse that I don't have a real license and that it's just a video game. But if I ever do this in real life... ooooh boy there will be no excuses.
