Unlucky 7s

Another Saturday, another weekly round of the Mario 35 Continued Interest tournament! At this point, my performance in these tournaments has been... beyond less than subpar. And at this point I've come to accept that was just how I would do this week.

First match was Post Holiday Workout. Which I probably assume was once again levels with star powerups in them. Needless to say, I'll save the pain and just say I lasted only 2 minutes. I ended in 7th place. Yep it was going to be a great week. I played it very unsafe as I was small Mario in 8-1 and I decided to hop on one of those 4 block tall pillars as a sent over green koopa fell right onto my head. I've been doing this for how long now? The match in total went on for about 13 minutes longer. Yeah I am definitely nowhere near the skill length as players like EW-o-Matic, NoTM3, and Joshy are. Will I ever get up to their skill level? Ehhhhh... so uh... Match 2 was I Heart 6-3. Yeah I have memories of this one. Last time I played this round, I did alright. But eventually I fell to my demise in one of the reruns of 6-3. This go around, I died on the 2nd rerun of 6-3. And to add salt to the wound, I was right at the end of the level too. I finished this match in 7th place.

Match 3 was Player's Choice. Also known as, I hope every one picked 1-2. Did they? Clearly not because the first level was 2-1. I once again had a very piss poor death. It was 3-2. I tried to even be careful too but I still bonked my head on a brick above me and fell into a pit that was 2 blocks in front of me. I finished this match in 8th place. Any and all hopes of getting to a top spot on the leaderboard was now crushed and destroyed and burned into a firey pit of hell. Match 4 was Cloudy with a chance of meatballs. Also known as holy shit that's a big lakitu party. Though we didn't actually see any meatballs until late into the match. And when I did try to build up a big pile of lakitus, of course none of them would fucking show up. So I couldn't do what others did and ride the wave. Of course they just became way too much and pretty soon, my next level was 7-4. I had no roulette spins and I was dead. Oh yeah, I finished in 7th place. Of course that was also the match where I lasted a decent time but of course, so did everyone else. And only when I died that everybody start being able to ride lakitus.

Welp, one more shot. I almost didn't want to play the 5th match. But I pressed on anyway. RTAndomizer wasn't my friend last week. AND IT WASN'T MY FUCKING FRIEND THIS WEEK! Oh and guess what? I finished... IN SEVENTH... FUCKING... PLACE! Yep. I didn't even make the top 5 once this week. Talk about the worlds most unluckiest curse. The only time you don't want to land all 7s.
