And that was just the first level.

I return one final time to Mario Maker 2 1-1 world. After over a year and a half, I can put this super world to rest!
Before I played the final level, I decided to go back and take a look back at all the other levels I played before. And spliced my full run to show just the winning attempts at each level. Starting with the first one. Which was just 1-1. Next up was 1-1 but remade by memory. And hey, I give credit. This dudes memory was pretty damn good! Albeit some differences in the middle zone. But still pretty true to the OG. Next was 1-1 but squished. And squished it was. There was no shortage of blocks. It was more so the lack of gaps between platforms and blocks. 1-1 but it equals 0 was next. I really don't get the joke here. I know there's something with Mario Maker 2 with something equaling something and it affects the level some how. But I am no technical boy with this game. 1-1 but it's an airship fleet was next. I admit this was a cool level. How it was designed to be a Mario 3 airship but still holding true to the original look of 1-1! Creative and clever! After the boss fight, it was on to world 2!
World 2 started with 1-1 but you're an SMB2 mushroom. You sure are. Take that little guy to the end by jumping at the right time, become your Mario 2 counterpart, and beat the level! Next up was 1-1 but it comes in waves. I compared it to being like those Roblox games where you have to climb up the stairs. But each one is taller than the last. Next up was 1-1 but it's spot the difference. There's things in the level that shouldn't be there like extra enemies or blocks. It's pretty easy to find them and there was no issue with that level! Next was 1-1 but it's a water level. It's not just 1-1 being underwater. It's 1-1 being underwater. Fish and Bloops galore and it looks like the level has sunken deep into an ocean cave. The design is quite nice! 1-1 but nyooooooom was next. This was definitely the first 1-1 that took me a while. While you can control your speed, I remember when I originally played this, I got squish squashed a lot. That concluded world 2.
World 3 started with 1-1 but you can't look right. And let me tell you, jumping backwards is apparently a lot tougher than I thought. Of course in this stream you only see the attempt where I won. But when I originally played this, I think I looked right a bit too much. But I did eventually have my run where all I did look was left. Next was 1-1 but nothing is unnecessary. AKA, parkour. Basically every block that was not needed to be stood on to beat the level was removed. Next up was 1-1 but it's a scavenger hunt. You look all around for red coins, some you're just BARELY able to get. After you collect them all, you can beat the level! Next was 1-1 but it's a maze. Yeah I didn't like this one. You had to traverse the 1-1 maze to find an ON/OFF switch to let you get an SMB2 mushroom so you can pull out a cloud and beat the level. There were so many repeating chunks of the level so of course I found myself getting lost a lot when I played the level. 1-1 but it's a surfing course at least wasn't confusing to hell. You just had to be careful and ride the wave of blue skull rollercoasters. That ended world 3.
World 4 starts with 1-1 but it's leaf parkour. When you're in the Mario 3 mode, you can refill your P meter if you jump on an enemy. Of course assuming your P is still active. There is some extra goombas lying around because otherwise, this level would be impossible. Next was 1-1 but it's spin 2 win. Yeah this one was painful to beat. Based on the timer jump, it took me about 54 minutes to beat this level. I'm sure Mario got sick from all the spinning I made him do. Next was 1-1 but time attack sections. Beat each section of 1-1 before time runs out, collect the red coins, and you become a winner! 1-1 but it's backwards was next. Literally backwards. Even the music. And you gotta be quick too because that level timer is not generous. 1-1 but it's a shoot 'em up was next. 1-1 but if it was an arcade style shooter. Take your fire clown car and blast the spinies. Thankfully if you get to the end and you didn't kill them all, it lets you go back to the beginning. Which was nice! And a nice way to end world 4!
World 5 starts with 1-1 but it's acorn parkour. Similar to leaf parkour. But it's a nut this time. And yes, squirrels can fly. 1-1 but everything is breaking was next. Of course you were the one causing destruction by being giant Mario. So be careful with where you're landing. There is no ground on this level. 1-1 but it's flooded was next. Okay not entirely flooded. Just the ground is now a layer of water for you to run on with your frog suit. I wonder how many levels utilize the ability to run on water in Mario maker 2. Probably not many. 1-1 but it's a Bowser chase was next. Oh no. Bowser. So scary. He's gonna get me but he didn't. Okay maybe he did a couple times. But you didn't see that in this stream. The Bowser chase ends world 5.
World 6 starts with 1-1 but you avoid the powerups. They are poison. They try to lure you in with their magical powers. But they didn't lure me in. 1-1 but it's a goombacide was nice. Those Goombas stood no chance against me. 1-1 but it's a bonus stage was next. I guess the goombacide level was supposed to be one of the really hard ones like the rocket level. Not featured since I skipped that one. Here, it rewards me with coins and lives. Which I gladly took! Next was 1-1 but it's getting over it. Now I've beaten the actual game Getting Over It before. So I assumed this wouldn't be much of a challenge. Of course I did slip and fall a few times. But it only took me a few minutes to get to the flag. Not a very hard level. World 6 ended with a hot mess. And yeah it was hot alright. One of the first levels that took me multiple streams to eat. Those podoboos were brutal to get past. Especially when you were moving which caused them to jerk all over the place. I miraculously somehow beat the level.
World 7 starts with 1-1 but it's a coinathon. Another extremely brutal level. With another brutal timer. I mean there is ZERO room for error. You gotta collect those coins fast. So essentially, get rich quick. 1-1 but it's clawsome was next. This level wasn't nearly as hard... or... so I thought. This level shouldn't have been as hard as I made it seem to be. I guess just a few tricky sections which I slipped on maybe a few too many times. But i guess you could say I CLAWED my way to victory! 1-1 but it's a flipped ride was next. Another extremely challenging level. But I shouldn't be shocked at this point. This is indeed the late part of the world. After I found out I was playing the level all wrong it making it harder on myself, I found out that the level isn't actually that bad. Sure there's still some tricky sections. Plus you can't get off the ground at any time. So that's what also made it challenging. But it felt so damn good to beat the level! 1-1 but the seafloor is lava was next. There are a lot of water based 1-1's in here. Another level where you can't touch the ground. With a layer of water rising up and down. But at least it's not as brutal. And there's no worry about the timer. You still have to play a little carefully. But I just take it slow and not touch any ground at all! 1-1 but it's a bullet hell was next. Which this level wasn't actually as bad as it looked. Not to me at least. Sure there were a shit load of fire raining on me... so it's rain... not bullets. Either way, it's relatively easy to avoid the flames. Plus if you keep your powerup through a majority of the level, you'll be good. It took me less than 10 minutes to beat this level.
And with that... on to world 8! Where the most brutal 1-1's come to play. Starting with 1-1 but you can't see Mario. Which was probably the most brutal of the bunch. It felt like you take a lot of blind jumps which was why I was dying a lot. And also this was during the time I was doing a longplay of 1-1 world too so I was starting to have a lot of regrets. I remember several times where I got close to beating the level but died at the final staircase. It only took until one time where I just randomly find a way to climb up the final staircase and beat the level. I may as well had been playing blindfolded. Next up was 1-1 but it's painful. Oh yeah. I remember this one. Painful was right. Spikes everywhere plus having to hit 69 P-Switches. nice. But I finally beat it just after 4 hours of playing this painful level. Seriously my hands were in pain when I originally beat this. 1-1 but it's frozen over was probably the easiest of the levels here. There were still spikes but not nearly as many. This was the same stream where I beat the painful level. And I had serious regrets about not playing this 1-1 before the painful one. Next up was 1-1 but it's a flight course. Yet another level where you can't touch the ground after leaving it. Fuck I hate that condition so much. Overtime I found it was easier to start off slow and gradually speed up through the level. I ended up playing that level... and beating it on my more channel. Which was the biggest reason why I made the compilation showcase to show off on this stream was because I beat the flight course on NeedNoMoreMics.
But anyways, after all that was said and done... looking back at all the 1-1's I played, it was time... time... to finish the job. I had one more 1-1 left to play. And boy... I was not looking forward to it. I was expecting total brutality. Perhaps a 1-1 that would take me 10 hours to beat. Maybe another bullet hell? Long firebars? Raining enemies? Extremely fast autoscroll? 10 second timer? I was ready for anything at this rate. I was ready to take on... the final 1-1. I take a deep breath... press A... load the level....... it's the fucking super world credits OKAY BLOG OVER NOW!
