Didn't we play this event before?

The first Fortnite mini season comes to the end. As you know this was the Star Wars season with Star Wars POIs, Weapons, NPCs, etc. And it all concluded with the Death Star Sabotage! A live event that was... finally not a fucking concert.

Like past live events, this one had a pre-event minigame. Where we were either in TIE Fighters or X-Wings. If we were in an X-Wing, we had to defeat the TIE Fighters from destroying the star destroyer. Vice Versa for being in the TIE Fighter. Once the timer reached zero, it was off to the death star!

We got in and were given access to disguises. And of course everyone disguised as a Stormtrooper. Shocking right? We took down some generators that did... whatever the hell. I don't watch Star Wars so maybe there's some lore there. After that, we all grouped up and saw classic Fish Stick shaking a Rift-To-Go in the Death Star. I'm sure that didn't go wrong at all. We then grabbed some weapons, not lightsabers sadly and started a fight against REAL Stormtroopers.

Jones tried a Jedi mind trick against some real troopers and... it didn't work. But like he said, it was worth a shot. After fighting some more Stormtroopers, we fall to a lower level where a big door... mysteriously opens for us. That's when we meet Emperor Palpatine. And he so highly convinced himself that he would defeat us all. Because allegedly the dark side always is more powerful.

But Hope throws a rift into Mr. Emperor. We all escape out. The Death Star gets exploded. But even then... it gives off one final attack as bits of the Death Star fall on to the map. And that is the end of the event. We get one last little teaser showing Superman to be a character in the next season of Fortnite.

Overall, I am glad this was a more traditional event. But as some people said, this was very similar to the Operation Skyfire event. Which I can definitely see. Break into ship, investigate its secrets, get past and defeat guards, explode the thing, chunks land on map. Obviously there were differences since... well it was all Star Wars. I'm still sad we didn't get to use lightsabers. I wish we did.

I hope this is a sign of future Fortnite live events. To be honest, I am getting tired of the concert final events. I hope traditional and classic live events return. Starting with this one. Oh and Mr. Palpatine? Just so you know... light always wins. I mean seriously... find a shadow, shine a light at it, boom... shadow gone.
