Don't let that kids laugh fool you.

Next up on the Summer Games Done Quick 2025 block, I check out The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask! I actually played this game a long ass time ago technically. Back in the Sammycord era. I recorded... one video on this game. I wanted to make it a series. But after that one video, I never played it again. So having this game be during SGDQ 2025 gave me a good chance to take another look at it!
After I get my controller fixed, I start my fresh file. I guess this game was supposed to follow Ocarina Of Time since it talks about a hero who battled evil and saved Hyrule. That hero assumingly being Link. As we see him on his horse, Epona I think its name is as Link seeks out an old friend. Who this friend is? No fucking clue. These 2 fairies come up and startle Epona which causes Link to fall of it and die... okay he's not dead but he is unconscious. And then... we get a visit from Skull Kid. Wearing the mask of Majora. After Skull Kid checks on Link's unconsciousness, he plays around with Link's Ocarina. I guess every note makes him giggle uncontrollably. I didn't realize Ocarina's were that funny. After Tael and Tatl bicker about the Ocarina, Link gets up and the Skull Kid is like... "uh... what ocarina?". Skull then proceeds to steal Epona... son of a bitch... and Link has to chase him down. Only for Link to fall down a deep pit of hieroglyphics. But hey, at least Skull Kid is at the bottom... but what about Epona? Well turns out the Skull Kid got rid of the horse and wanted to spend more time with Link. As Link is forcefully given a Deku mask that he can't seem to take off. Skull Kid and Tael head off, leaving Tatl behind who... oh... TatlTael... Tattletale... I get it... anyways... Tatl is left behind with link and she seems pretty pissed. Well hey now it's not Link's fault she stayed with him. Tatl eventually apologizes to Link for her behavior and decides to pair up with Link. At least until they find Skull Kid.
I use the flower boosts to jump over to the next area which leads me to... another flower jumping section. Oh yeah I get some Deku Nuts too! I'm sure I won't waste those at all! Tatl also teaches me how to talk to others using her. How the hell do these characters just... know they're in a fucking video game? First Banjo-Kazooie now this? Anyways... I eventually meet up with everyone's favorite Happy Mask Salesman! He talks about the mask that was stolen from him by the imp in the woods. Assumingly Skull Kid. The salesman offers that if I can get the mask back to him, he'll get the Deku mask off me. But time is short. I only have 3 days to do it. So I better get to moving straight away! I then head out into South Clock Town. Tatl puts me on a quest to seek the Great Fairy. And Tatl unfortunately believes that the Skull Kid is no match for her... anyways... after being viciously attacked by a... dog... and talking to some town folks, I reach the Great Fairy Fountain... but of course... she has been separated into about... 30 quintillion tiny fairies. Turns out the Skull Kid broke her into those pieces and one of them got loose. Remember when I said Tatl unfortunately believed that the Skull Kid was no match for the Great Fairy? Oh yeah I also seem to come across a couple in the "Honey & Darling's Shop" who... seem to be in the process of making out... fuck they called this a kids game? Speaking of kids, because Link is a kid, he can't really do anything anywhere because... well he's a kid. At least good on the town people for being considerate and just not letting a kid wield 10 thousand bombs in their pocket.
I would search that missing fairy... but I get side tracked with this dude who's trying to run for exactly 10 seconds flat. Exactly. Not a millisecond late. And I agree it is tough. I tried it myself and got a time of 10.69. Close... but no cigar. I actually do end up finding the missing fairy. Now it's a question of... how the fuck do I get it? Because of course of all times I can't use Tatl to call the fucking thing down. Thankfully one of the flower boosters is nearby conveniently so I am able to jump up and float down to it. I return to the Great Fairy and once all the tiny fairies merge... sheesh now I see why they call her a hot goddess... I don't know if they do actually. But she is one hot goddess. I thought maybe she could take my mask off... no... she just gives me some powers for my mask. Well gee thanks that is the complete fucking opposite of what I wanted. Though I do admit it is useful for popping the Majora's Mask balloon. After that, I am offered the ability to get the code to access the observatory. But of course I have to play a game of fucking hide and go seek first. And by the time I do, my fucking screen starts to shrink as the next day is upon us. Hell even the menu UI is shrinking. That's freaky. But because the next day started, I failed my game of hide and go seek so I had to start again. After taking way too much time and having this dude block off a flower booster, I did eventually find all kids who reveal to me the code. 4 1 2 5 3. I don't know if that is the same each time. But that was the code I got.
Once I got access to the observatory, the astronomer lets me use its telescope. Where Skull Kid is twerking on the clock tower. Yeah fuck you too. A Moon's Tear has fallen from... well... the moon and I head over to collect it. But after that... I was seemingly in another "where the fuck do I go?" situation as I'm already in the final day. Well now that's not good. I'm in the final day and I still have the damn Deku mask on me. And yes, the clock town music does not make things any easier. I do come across a Tingle who sells me a map of the town. That doesn't really help me. I do hand off the Moon's Tear to the dude who was blocking off a flower boost in exchange for a Land Title Deed... cool? I don't know maybe I can sell it. The flower boost let's me access an upper door of the Clock Tower. But it only opens on the midnight of the town carnival. So I guess I literally did have to play the waiting game. The fireworks go off and the door eventually opens. 6 hours away from devastation as I meet Skull Kid on top of the tower. And thus begins the first boss fight of the game. At first I seemingly don't know what to do. When I remember I can blow bubbles with my Deku mask and use them to attack Skull Kid. Doing that stuns it and makes it drop the Ocarina. I pick it up and Link remembers a crucial memory of a farewell between him and Zelda. Before Link's departure, Zelda teaches Link the Song of Time. C Right, A, C Down, C Right, A, C Down. Tatl is seemingly pissed that Link of all times is caught in flashback. But eventually I do play the Ocarina... using... pipes from the Deku Mask?
After I play the song, Link and Tatl are transported back to the first day. Seems like we both retain our memories from the 3 days. Well... I think Tatl's memory might be a little off because she mentions we can return the Ocarina stolen from Link back to the mask salesman. But the mask salesman wanted Link to return a stolen mask back to him. I don't know... next time I play this... and yes there will be a next time... I'll try handing the Ocarina to the mask salesman but something tells me he won't be... enthusiastic about it. But maybe somehow we'll convince him that an Ocarina is secretly a mask. That or he'll just fucking murder me.
