Game 1 jitters.

After a 3 week break, I am finally back to streaming again in NeedNoMics season 2! The story may be over... the seasons are not! And what better way to start season 2 than with Detroit VS Everybody in Madden NFL 25?

Just like the Detroit VS Everybody series in MLB The Show 24, I take Detroit to play every team in the NFL. I decided to order my schedule based off the 2022 team rankings so then Detroit would have roughly an even amount of home and road games. Teams that did worse than Detroit, I would play them on the road. And host teams that did better than me. And for game 1, I started all the way at the bottom with the Chicago Bears. I know things won't be completely accurate especially since this is Madden 25 and I'm playing off of the 2022 year. So some teams like Texans and Rams who were not as good in 2022 will be better in this game simply because in 2024, those 2 teams improved a lot. But let's not worry about that. Let's worry about giving up an opening drive touchdown-fuck already? Yeah. I put Chicago on 3rd down a couple times but they marched right down the field. So it's up to me and the Lions to respond. Or not. Couldn't get anything run related going and my 3rd down pass was batted away. So I had to punt away the ball. Thankfully I get Chicago to also punt the ball in about 2 and a half minutes. So now can me and the Lions actually score? Nope. I'll just take a shit throw and have it get picked off. I can't even play good against CPUs. I am doing great so far. Thankfully I once again force them to punt again. Now I really need to score. I get a defensive pass interference call which happily goes my way and I'm able to get good ground on the field. However I can't make it any further than the 18 yard line and I have to settle for 3. Oh well. Points are points. And I'd rather have 3 points than no points.

Of course in no fucking time, Caleb Williams throws a massive bomb to DJ Moore to get the Bears up 14 to... wait no it's 13 to 3 because I block the extra point. Sadly I couldn't return it to the other end zone for 2. But it's a 10 point game. Not an 11 point game. I have just over 90 seconds and a dream in the first half now. And on 3rd down, I have Jared Goff also throw a massive bomb to Jameson Williams! It's not a touchdown but it's 1st and Goal at the 3! Alright we are in business! Using as much time as I can in the 2nd quarter and David Montgomery gets the 6 plus Jake Bates with the extra 1 more! 13-10 Bears going to the 2nd half! Me and the Lions get the ball to start the 2nd half. Not like it mattered much. I throw another interception so now the Bears have short field to run down. Great. Even after a big Hutchinson sack to force 3rd and 20, Caleb Williams still provided Chicago with 6. This time to Rome Odunze. Do I block the extra point again? Lol no. I try to throw another deep missile on offense. Only for it to fail horribly and I have to punt away. So down by 10 and Chicago has the ball again. But my defense provides beautifully and my offense gets the ball back! After some Chicago offsides calls on the 1 yard line, I have Jared Goff take the ball in himself for the touchdown. It's a 3 point game again. Once again, my defense also really steps up and forces Chicago to punt again! And now I have a chance to become the better team here. Another deep dart to Jamo and it's 1st and Goal at the 1! Monty the Echidna gives the Lions the 24 to 20 lead! Now we got a game!... well that 24-20 lead lasted about 3 seconds because of course Chicago remembered how to fucking offense and a connection from Williams to Odunze gives Chicago the damn lead back.

In the 4th quarter, 7 and a half minutes to go, 4th and 4 at the 4. Do I take the 3? Lol no. This is the Lions bitch! We go for it!... I didn't get it. Piss. Surely going for it won't cost me right? Thankfully I pin Chicago at the 2 yard line as they have to punt the ball away. Giving me damn good field. Not like it mattered. I throw ANOTHER interception. Sure I had an easier wide open guy. But I guess I didn't see them. I just wanted to go for the big money. And it backfired. Thankfully Chicago's offense has just died at this point and they punt once again. Giving me the ball back with a shit load of time. And I go 4 and out. Not 3 and out. 4 and out. Once again I go for it on 4th down and fail miserably. So Chicago... deep in Detroit territory now... oh wow I just really fucked up didn't I? Can't give up a touchdown-dude's wide open in the end zone. Alright so... I just fucked myself over. 10 point game with 3 and a half minutes left to go. You know an extremely quick score sounds nice right about now. WISH AND I SHALL RECEIVE! Brock Wright with the touchdown and it's a 3 point game again! All 3 timeouts and the 2 minute warning in my pocket. All I need is to stop Chicago. And that is what I do as I 3 and out them! Inching closer to the end zone is me. I'm just outside the red zone! I could take the lead! Or at least send it to overtime! And get a win... on my first edition... of Detroit VS Everybody NFL MADDEN TWENTY-i press the wrong button and throw an interception and chicago wins the game...

I am too damn used to the Switch controller layout.
