Heartbreaking.

Welp... I'm 0-2 so far in Madden NFL 25. That's not good. I need to get a damn win here. Can I do it in Arizona? Boy I better.

This time I get the ball first as I return the kickoff to the 25. Does getting the ball first help me? No... no it doesn't. I have to punt. But so does Arizona. So I get redemption! I get into a 4th and 1 situation and go for it. I'm sure glad I did. I converted! But after that I get back to 4th and 3 and punt the ball away. Despite the game recommending I go for it. It wasn't worth the risk. On Arizona's next drive, my defense comes in CLUTCH and Murray fumbles the ball and it's picked up by Detroit! Hell yeah! To which that secures a touchdown drive for David Montgomery! Arizona gets a drive going. But I sack Murray 3 times in a fucking row and it's 4th and 39. I don't think there's much you can do there besides punt the ball back to me! And Sam LaPorta gets a 31 yard touchdown pass before the 1st quarter ends! We're up 14-0! Now this is a damn good start! After making sure my sliders weren't fucked, I get back in to play defense. Not as powerful this go around but we force Arizona to settle for 3. Still an 11 point game! I'll take that! My Lions drive down the field and Sam LaPorta pushes through to the end zone and it's 21-3! But then very quickly it's 21-10. Arizona finally gets a touchdown. Marvin Harrison Jr. with a 59 yarder. No matter... I have 4 minutes. Plenty of time to end the first half! But... Arizona gets a stop on me and I have to punt. Arizona once again drives down the field but once again ends it in 3. 8 point game as the Lions lead 21-13. I have 61 seconds to work with. But I have Goff throw a shit pass and it's picked off. Thankfully a pass interference call saves my ass. And David Montgomery scores and it's 28-13 at halftime! Surely I won't blow this! This 1st half has been so damn good! Going into the 2nd half, and Arizona goes 3 and out on their first 2nd half drive. Just like good ol' times! But then I once again throw a shit pass and it's picked off. Refs can't save me this time. Even at my own 2 yard line, I'm able to let Arizona settle for 3. Alright... time for my Lions to get a 2nd half score!

No... I won't. I'll be 3 and outed. And then after punting the ball away, Arizona gets another quick drive and scores. Alright... ALRIGHT LIONS! We're not only up by 5 points. Let's not start to fuck this up! Thankfully all is alright. I start to drive down the field and I get closer to that end zone! And then I throw an interception. No it's worse. It's a pick six. And Arizona takes the lead. Alright... well that's not good. Any goodness I just had in the 1st half is slowly being pissed away. As Arizona also gets a successful 2 point conversion. Another fucking 3 and out and I have to punt. Is my offense dying? I hope not. At least Arizona misses a field goal to give me good field position. Starting the 4th quarter, and... it starts with... another pick six... huh... So now I'm down by fucking 10. Alright... STOP BEING STUPID! I was up by 15 points and now I have allowed TWENTY-FIVE UNANSWERED POINTS! Make it 28 after throwing another fucking pick, leading to a field goal. Good grief this is getting ugly. I try for another QB sneak on 4th and 1. But I guess Arizona saw that coming since they stopped me that time. And just for the fuck of it, I decided to challenge the spot. And yeah it was still Arizona ball. And now it's a 19 point game after Arizona scores again. They miss the 2 point but any chance of a win is getting further and further and further away. And now I am getting pissed. But just when I thought it would never happen... I FINALLY get a touchdown! Took me long enough! Montgomery with the touchdown! Offsides on Arizona but I decline it. Of course I go for a 2 point conversion and an onside kick but I fail horribly on both. 13 point game. So now I need to hope like hell for a turnover. And that is EXACTLY what I get! Murray fumbles the ball and it's returned by Hutchinson! That is big! Do I smell a comeback? It's... possible? Sam LaPorta scores a touchdown and it's a 6 point game with 1:21 left. I go for an other onsider. And don't get it.

I'm able to get the ball back with 30 seconds left. Unfortunately it was just too little time as on a last desperation with a hail mary, the ball is picked off and returned for a touchdown. So the Cardinals take the 53-41 win. Well... there was no shortage of offense. Just too much shortage for the Lions in the 2nd half. And it's heartbreaking given I had a 15 point lead at halftime. And I really choked it. I mean yeah I made things exciting at the end. It was too little too late. And now I'm 0-3 in Detroit VS Everybody as I will be headed to Indianapolis next to play the Colts. Well I can't take down a Bear... I can't take down a Texas bull... I can't take down a bird... can I take down a fucking horseshoe? I sure as hell hope so.
