I had a lead... for like... 2 seconds.

Well my game against the Chicago Bears went like poo poo. Maybe I would have better luck against the Houston Texans? Even though they were a good team in 2024 and I'm going off of the 2022 schedule where the Texans were the 2nd worst team in the league?

Starting off, Houston got the ball so I got to kickoff. Where for 2 minutes and 55 seconds, all I could do was watch Houston march right down the fucking field and score a touchdown. Alright so... not great defense... not like I was calling the plays or anything but that doesn't matter. So time for me to call the offensive shots... I go 3 and out. Alright... great start am I right? At least on Houston's next drive, I get Hutchinson to sack down CJ Stroud to put Houston on 4th down and punt the ball away! Finally my offense gets cooking and I get David Montgomery to score a tuddy to make it a tie game! Of course after Jake Bates kicks the extra point to officially make it a tie game. On Houston's next drive, unfortunately my defense goes back to being slow. However I do force them to take a field goal After Anzalone takes Stroud down for a loss and then their next play gives them another loss of yards. So Houston gets points but giving up 3 is better than giving up 6 or 7. My offense isn't able to move anywhere as once again I go 3 and out. Oh... and this just breaks my heart. Hutchinson sacks Stroud to make it 3rd and 27. Like... great! I'm gonna get the ball back! But of fucking course before that happens Stroud just throws a bomb to Tank Dell and it's a 17-7 game. Down by 10 now. But not before too long it's a 3 point game again after Jared Goff sneaks into the end zone on 3rd and Goal from the 1! At least this game is competitive. I'm sure it'll stay that way! No it really won't. Defense goes limp again and it's back to a 10 point game. Dell with another touchdown. You know a stop would be nice someday. Well I got 3 minutes and 18 seconds to respond. Plenty of time... to... get to 4th and 20 from the Texans 37 yard line and miserably fail a 54 yard field goal attempt. Fuck I never know how to do those damn long field goals. I feel like every time I try, I just fail miserably.

So Houston has the ball back. Not for long though. Stroud throws an interception to Jack Campbell and the Lions offense gets another shot before half time! HUZZAH! It gets a little chippy though as I find myself at 4th and 9. And being the big balls guy I am, I go for it on the Texans 38 yard line. And holy shit I convert. Sam LaPorta with the catch of his life to keep this drive alive! And before long, Detroit brings it once again back to a 3 point game! I didn't even mean to go for St. Brown in the end zone. Pushed the wrong button on the Xbox controller again. I'm still used to a Switch controller layout. Oh what? You thought I practiced Xbox buttons? LOL! No. Why would I? Either way it worked out! Lions get the ball to start the 2nd half and I have a shot to take the lead now! And a lead I take! Sam LaPorta pushes into the end zone and the Lions take a 28-24 lead! Now... let's get a stop! And a stop I get! Houston punts the ball to the end zone for a touchback! I am rushing right down the field quite nicely. However by the time I get to the 10, it's 4th and 2. So now I have a choice to make. Do I take the field goal or go for it? What do you think? WE'RE GOING FOR IT BITCHES! BIG BALLS HERE WE COME AG-i missed it and it's a turnover on downs. No matter. Sucks but... Houston has long field to go. How bad could things get? Answer... very bad. In 11 fucking seconds, Houston finds a stupidly wide open guy and Tank Dell gives Houston the lead. So I trail again. Can I get the lead back? No. I can't. I can throw an interception though. And then Stefon Diggs scores a touchdown. So it's essentially a pick six and I am down by 10 again. No worries. I've been here before. Just got to go down the field and score! Wait... no I meant the LIONS SCORE NOT THE TEXANS fuck i just threw an actual pick six and now i am down by 17. Okay now things are getting really chippy.

I start to get greedy at this point as I start to go for constant deep plays. Sometimes the passes work. Other times they don't. And sometimes they just end in interceptions. And sometimes those interceptions lead to touchdowns. And sometimes that puts me 24 points behind. It's okay. I can score 3 touchdowns and a field goal in 1 minute and 52 seconds. Easy. Too easy! All I need to do is adjust those sliders and... just kidding I didn't do that. Another turnover on downs. Shocker. But hey at least I intercept a pass in the end zone. Moral victories right? Until I just throw a pick six. Then again I just allowed the touchdown to happen. I just wanted the fucking ball back. Even if I needed to somehow score 31 points now in 54 seconds. That won't happen. I just throw another fucking interception and CJ Stroud takes the knee. Wasn't this a close game? Yeah... yeah it was. And then everything just went to fucking hell. So now I currently stand 0-2 in Detroit VS Everybody Madden NFL 25. That's not a good start. Hopefully my game against the Arizona Cardinals will go... a lot better. And that I don't throw 4 interceptions. And maybe? I should consider kicking field goals. I hear taking 3 points don't fucking curse you. I wish I knew that sooner.
