I heard watching paint dry is fun.

I am back already with the NES-A-Thon. And I must say... I didn't really have a fun time this session. The amount of bored I was playing these games was so high, I would've rather counted the hairs on my carpet.

I started with a game of Hoops. And thankfully, I didn't have to play it! Like other games I've played this included a watch mode meaning I could watch CPUs bumble around and... dance around really. Despite it being a simple 2 on 2 basketball game, I didn't understand the teams, scoring, or anything. You have these 2 dudes in pink jerseys so you'd think they were on the same team... or... not? I don't know... there was like 50 rules different from traditional basketball.

The Simpsons - Bartman Meets Radioactive Man was next. And I can tell you... I don't think I met Radioactive Man. Instead, I met... not telling what was background and foreground, I also met "why did I get hit there?", and "I'm back at the beginning". And I got this laser eyes powerup but seems like I couldn't just switch back to traditional punching. If I could, I couldn't figure out how. The game overall was quite literally garbage.

Terra Cresta. Your every day average arcade shooter game. At least the background was moving nice and slow. Score 1 for this game. It was definitely still on the challenging side. 1 hit and life lost. Isn't that fun? It does look like there are upgrades you can get. But it looks like it's still 1 hit death. From what I experienced.

Dubble Dwibble was next... ahem... sorry... Double Dribble. Of course I am no Peter Griffin because I couldn't CORNER THREE!... or even score. But hey... at least my gameplay footage was mine and not stolen... looking at you fox...

Deadly Towers is to be taken literally. Those towers sure are deadly. The objective wasn't really openly clear. I basically ran around in the streets naked as I flung swords everywhere, hoping they would hit, traversing through random rooms like... what was my purpose? Am I saving someone? Something? Am I just trying to survive? Because I didn't really do a real good job on that.

Apparently as a single player, I had to create like 8 players in California Games. And the games were... eh? I mean you're doing skateboard ramp riding and bag kicking. Didn't help that I had to do the activities 8 times each. Did the creators of this game really think 8 people would get around to play this obscure piece of boredom?

At least River City Ransom was a more well known game. And yeah it's your everyday beat em up game. I don't know what bad blood Alex had with all these people. But at least the people of Grotto Mall were nice. No bad blood there. And 95 cents for a cup of coffee? Holy shit bring me back to Alex's time please!

Next game was probably the best in the list this go around. The 1990 Nintendo World Championships! Super Mario Bros, Rad Racer, and Tetris! The whole thing went on for 6 or so minutes so I just played through the whole thing. I definitely didn't do great in Rad Racer. I crashed a couple times and each crash lessened my time for Tetris. Overall, I scored 256 thousand points. Obviously nothing prize winning. But not total crap either.

Next up was Mad Max. You know the movie did pretty damn well. So of course people would capitalize on its success by making a video game. And guess what? I would honestly say it was actually pretty damn... shitty! Seriously! Don't play Mad Max the NES game!

Last but not least was Xexyz. And holy shit what a game to end on. You're some... 2050's dude in advanced armor shooting bursts of energy at jumping guns, collecting energy, walking through several doors, and asking to yourself where the hell do you go? There was a door at the very end but I couldn't seem to go through it. At least I assume it was a door. At that point I was feeling tired and just wanted to end the stream.

Overall... sometimes you ask if the people making these games have fun themselves. Maybe you really need to expand your imagination to make these games more fun. Maybe if I imagine the games are fun... maybe they'll feel more fun while playing them.... or something-I don't know.
