I remember first finding The Backyardigans: Super Spy Adventure when I was way younger. But I wasn't able to play it because I needed a plugin to download. I eventually convinced my parents to get me that plugin. And when I played the game... at least back then it was a fun as hell experience! And today I wanted to see if that experience was just as fun. Needless to say... my definition of fun has changed.

The idea is that we break into the robot factory to collect the secret formula for... who knows what which is separated into 3 containers. But uh oh... it won't be easy. The factory is guarded by evil, deadly robots. We break in the front door by using a glass door cutter... I guess the door was glass. Once in, we're already met with a dangerous robot. It's beeping and booping and probably going to kill me... but then I turn into 2 crates and the robot goes... "huh?"

The game overall is very linear. You're holding the up arrow key most of the time as your character walks along a pre-set path. All while you come across deadly robots that... you either confuse or kill by spinning around it. So... maybe these robots really aren't so threatening. How could that be? Maybe it's a kids game or something. Along with that, you're also speeding past doors that close automatically at times. Don't get squashed or you die. No not really you just teleport back a foot or two.

There's really not much more to say about the game. It really is getting past or killing robots, getting through doors, and collecting formula containers. Now later in the game there are parts where you have to make it past cameras. Which are also easy to get past. After failing to walk onto a final moving platform, I am able to take my blinking self to collect the final container. And it turns out, the secret formula was for... cookies...

Oooohhhhh right it's a kids game.
