This honestly feels like a downgrade.

The final Pajama Sam game in the Humongous Summer Games 2025 block is Pajama Sam 4! Life is Rough When You Lose Your Stuff. This game... uh... well... I mean don't get me wrong it's decent. However, compared to Pajama Sam's one through three, this edition feels... a little lazy.
In fact I think whoever ported this game to Steam was lazy since when I first tried to open it before the stream, it... uh... well crashed. I tried verifying the file integrity, yeah that didn't do jack squat. I even showed what happens on stream when I tried to open the game. It just wasn't having it. Turns out, I wasn't alone. The reason why this was happening probably had to do with the fact that this edition of the game was running natively on Windows. Where as 1 through 3 was running under an emulation layer called ScummVM. Along with the other Humongous games. But because this game was newer, it didn't need emulation. However there was an issue. That issue being that I guess this game needed to have a CD in the drive. Problem... there is no CD drive installed in my gaming desktop. And why the fuck would I need a CD if I bought the game digitally on Steam? Thankfully the fix was simple. I had to load the game app itself onto an ISO file, mount the ISO, and then when I open the game, it just works. Cool so I have to work to play my fucking Pajama Sam now. We're off to a great start.
So now that we're in the actual game, we catch Sam watching a Pajama Man TV show. Shocking right? Also no you are not going crazy. Sam now has a different voice actor. Yeah when this game was made, I guess there was some cuts to the Humongous studios including the OG Sam VA. I mean no hate or shame to the new one. They didn't do anything wrong. But it is weird not hearing Sam's cracky iconic voice. Anyways, before Sam shuts the TV off, a news report breaks in telling that Pajama Man will be arriving in the local mall for autographs. And his mom agrees to take him. Sam decides to take his rare first issue of Pajama Man. But... uh oh! It's gone! Or... just in a pile nearby. But uh oh again! It slips down and away. So Sam takes his cape and finds himself in stuff land. As I'll call it. He finds a sad looking sock who has seen better days. He's both muddied up and alone without his pair. And the clothes with pairs dance around him and mock him. Well now that's just rude. So it's up to me to help him his pair. Which is easier said... and done. Though it's not that easy as the sock is too high for me to reach.
After using raisins to catapult me up, I find a Yo-Yo stuck in the ground. Long story short I don't get the Yo-Yo. But I do get a piece of string! Next is an area full of weird and wacky clothes. Knitted by Grandma Sweater. Too bad she has no yarn to knit with. Even on low budget Pajama Sam, there's still side quests. I find some wrench looking dude operating a crane to clear some junk. But lost one of the control levers. Making it impossible to clear the junk out of the way. Okay so I need some yarn and a lever. And something tells me that won't be the last side quest. After climbing up some shelves... twice because I failed the first go, I come across a fish tank and a toy fire truck. And a Gollum sponge that lives in the tank. After cranking up the truck ladder, I get a better view of the tank. The sponge requests mold from me which I don't have. Yep. There's 3 side quests. So I have to head off to... I don't know... the fucking clearance bin? Where there's a nutcracker, a broken wooden plane, a bean bag doll with plants growing on it, and a deflated balloon. With the saddest voice that legit wants to make me cry. So before the tears shed, I head to the cave. Of course it's dark to all hell so I can't proceed onward from there. Oh yeah I also acquired a piece of silly putty in that area too.
I check out the Grubby Corners Mall which is open 24/7! Convenient. Which is not convenient, I don't have a shirt so I can't head inside. And pajamas don't count. So I need a shirt. Which I assume can be knitted by Grandma Sweater. After my daily edition of bumbling around, I find that the quiet area to the right of the mall sign has now been inhabited with dust bunnies and the happy farmer which looks like a very bright brick of cheese. I'm able to control the dust bunny with my Yo-Yo string. Which... I guess makes the bunnies happy? Yeah okay sure. After the bunnies are shaved off, their dust is turned into instant wool! Nice! I take the roll to Grandma Sweater and she makes me... uh... a very... very cursed shirt. r/anattemptwasmade. Grandma Sweater needs a pattern. Which thankfully is easy to acquire as all I need to do is press the silly putty into Sam's body to get an image. And from there Grandma Sweater is able to work off that to give me a much better shirt. Unfortunately even with the shirt, I still need shoes and socks. (sigh). So now what? Well I have the nutcracker crack the nut I got earlier to get the half of shell. But what then? I can't net the fireflies or grab them for the dark tunnel. Turns out at the first fork in the road, there was a 3rd path I didn't even see. Despite the sign pointing to 3 paths.
These games really do make me go full stupid.
