I hadn't played Beat Saber in a long ass time. And Beat Saber was feature on Summer Games Done Quick 2025. And it was my SGDQ 2025 block... so... time to play Beat Saber! For this one I actually decided to start right where I left off from the last time I played. Back when my layout looked like Windows 95. So this will be the only game where I don't start the timer at 0. But hey... I'm allowed to break my own rules!

After going through the song list and determining which song I left on, it looked like it was Burning Sands by Boom Kitty. And like last time I used the No Fail cheat. I mean hey it's in the game. And I just want to get through the songs and not worry about if I play like ass. I say this song definitely had that Egyptian feel. So it was a nice fitting song. Funny too given one of my fake sponsors for this block was Anubis II for the Wii which featured some Egyptian demon looking thing. Funny how that works out. The song also incorporated a dubstep feel too. Guess it's supposed to give it an old time cross with new time. Overall, it played like a standard Beat Saber song. Not too tough and the track focused more on the notes. Nothing too crazy with the background. Overall I only missed 10 notes. Still got a C rank. Maybe because I had no fail on. The next song I played was Into The dream (ft. Jakub Tirco) by Jaroslav Beck. This song definitely played more around with the background and had a very rocking tempo with some calming vocal sections. I had 350 of 362 good cuts here with another C rank. Not an overly electric song but not a horrible one either. Next was It Takes Me (feat. Waylon Reavis) by once again Boom Kitty! Just listening to the preview of the song sounded pretty hype. It gradually builds up and then boom you're really getting into it. With a background spiraling all over. I think this was also the first song of the night I played that had primary lyrics. Kind of hard to understand them over the music and note slashing. But boy was I dancing to this also rocking track! 380 of 388 good cuts here with a B rank! Not bad!

LUDICROUS+ by Jaroslav Beck was... a false title. It wasn't really that bad. A mildly tame song at best. 242 of 253 good cuts. Sure some arrow directions warped my brain especially when you had like a down red next to an up blue and vice versa. Other than that, not horribly tough. Spin Eternally by Camellia was... a little more wild. It was a fast paced song but the notes were at a comfortably slow speed. I mean yeah I was playing on normal mode so there's that. Also I just love how in that song it just got chaotic for a few seconds. Like the song just started to run in fucking panic. That was humorous. That ended Volume 4 of the original soundtrack and it was on to volume 5! Starting with $1.78 by Schwank. It starts normal but the track introduces a new mechanic. Note lines. So I'll call them. The idea is that a note you hit will path your way to the next note in that color. I don't know if there's a penalty if you miss the path. There may or may not be. For the song itself, it sounded very... mechanical. Maybe the idea was it was a bunch of cash registers making the music hence the name of the track. Either way, this one was definitely on the tougher side. Despite playing on normal, I definitely missed more notes here. But hey that's why I had no fail on. Also this track had a damn nice background. The lighting was used very creatively. More than other tracks! Overall I only had 383 of 430 good cuts with an E rank... yeah not great. Curtains (All Night Long) by EEWK used the same lighting style as $1.78. The song starts chill but quickly picks up. Not horribly. It's manageable. Definitely had that nice modern instrumental track! Oh yeah did I mention the step notes?

Step notes are... well notes but with like a literal staircase of steps to them. It's like run a finger against a row of keys on your keyboard and that's what it feels like. Overall I had 387 of 407 good cuts with a C rank. Next is Final-Boss-Chan by Camellia. Fuck final boss is right. It's not the last track of Beat Saber but this one absolutely ramps the difficulty up. I also like how it mixes retro 8-bit music with modern rock music in that intense, fast paced vibe. It really does make you feel like you are playing the final boss of a video game. I am stunned I had 580 of 629 good cuts here. But low scoring with an E rank so... maybe not that good. I needed to rest my arms for a bit after that. They were already getting sore. Yes. I am that out of shape. But I play on to Firestarter by Tanger! Thankfully no fire department was needed here. This song wasn't that bad difficulty wise. Yeah I missed some notes but I still had 428 of 444 good cuts. I will take it! Next up... it looks like we have some Living Tombstone in here with I Wanna Be a Machine! You can never go wrong with a Living Tombstone song! And this was a damn good one! A story about someone who... well... wants to be an android! I guess being a human was too much. A nice mix of autotune and rapping! A nice slow paced ending and 494 of 527 good cuts! I think that'll be my favorite song of the night that I played! Magic (ft. Meredith Bull) by Jaroslav Beck was next. Did I have magic playing this song? Not really. This song really makes you spread your arms out. Given they were sore... that didn't work out so much. Plus shit loads of notes close together causing me to get a lot of misses. 424 of 490 good cuts. Not my best performance. But still a lovely song! Meredith Bull has a good voice that's for damn sure!

Moving on to volume 6 of the original soundtrack, I check out Cathedral by Boom Kitty! Very orchestral with the song and even the background! If there's a song that describes cathedrals, it would be this one! I only missed 4 notes the whole song and got a B rank! My best song of the night for sure! Heavy Weight by Lindsey Surling was next. Oh great I already feel like I just lifted tons of heavy weight. But this song was actually... lighter. It had a nice adventurous feel. Almost sounds like something you'd hear in those early 2000s or 2010s teen shows. Overall I had 472 of 495 good cuts here with another B rank! I think I was contempt with ending it there. My arms were on the verge of falling off plus my Quest 2 battery was quickly draining. Which is kind of ass given that the device is plugged in. The battery really does drain faster than it can charge. But enough bitching about the quest 2. Beat Saber, fun game, arm killer.
