A cold test

Next up on the Christmas Block, I am given Portal 1 Christmas Edition. I mean the mod is called Christmas Edition... I'm sure it won't just look like Portal 1.
Once I figured out how to get the damn mod loaded in... what you think I do this shit well before the stream? Right off the bat, the game does feel just like Portal 1. With of course very minute color changes. And there's a heart on the radio. The button and doors have hearts on them. And the weighted cube looks to have a hint of blue. I breeze through the first few tests. I get the portal gun which now has snowflakes on it in chamber 2 and make quick work of my portals to get through chamber 3. No issue using my blue portal to transfer the cube to the button in chamber 4 and in chamber 5, I get the 2 cubs placed on their respective buttons. Oh yeah in the elevator too, the little upper blue screen now says Weighted Companion Cube... that's a little random but... sure. I make work of the energy orb in chamber 6 to lower the platform for me to get on and get through the elevator. Same with chamber 7. Just need to be quicker here as soon as that receiver device is activated, that platform starts moving and there's only a small portalable surface to shoot a portal on. And off the bat it's right above said moving platform. Chamber 8 is where my speed starts to fail me. I get... a little too fast and that energy orb snipes me a couple times. But once I take it slower, I am able to get that platform moving to the door. GLaDOS claims chamber 9 is impossible. I've played this game enough times to know it's not. I get trained on momentum in chamber 10 and in chamber 11 is where I can get the orange portal upgrade to my gun... assuming I don't go too fast and fall in the poison goo. Now that i have both portals, I move up the elevator to chamber 12 where I use my momentum training to get the cube to the button and then again through the door. I'm able to skip using the energy orb in chamber 13 using momentum to get to the moving platform holding the other cube I need. And on chamber 14, I realize I can also do a skip here. Assuming the staircase isn't activated, I can use momentum to jump right up to the platform and to the elevator. I momentum my way through chamber 15 and bounce the energy orb around to the receiver that moves the platforms I portal my way across to the next section.
I have to be quick to move across to open both high placed doors and then move the energy orb through portals to land right inside the receiver to lower the moving platform. It feels like I could've skipped that part. But even practicing that one felt a little tougher. Maybe if I put the portal in front of the platform and not to the side of it, maybe it would be possible. On chamber 16 is where I first meet the turrets. Oh no so scary. I only die to one at the very end because despite me picking it up, when I drop it, it somehow lands on its legs and shoots me down. What luck for me. After I get sniped by an energy orb on chamber 17, I go for another skip. It's so jank but if you take a couple apparatuses and the companion cube, you can make a scuffed ass staircase and jump up and if you can grab the companion cube, you can burn it down and skip completely raising any of those platforms. On chamber 18, the test against the turrets, I use the energy orbs to knock each one down. And once I do, I am quick to get the energy orb moving to the receiver and I have to be quicker to get the door to said receiver open. And then quick to get to the moving platform... there's a lot of quickness going on here. Being quick to use momentum once I get the movable wall tilted, I move quickly to... fall into the poison goop... okay let's try that again and not move too fast. This time I do it right, get the cube, put it on the button, use momentum to get to the door. And then it's a big momentum game as I cycle between blue and orange portals and get to the elevator to chamber 19. GLaDOS wants to burn me? I won't let her. I swear every time I get to the first backstage kind of area... I never know where I am going. It's such an illusion that where I am supposed to go looks like I was already there. But I do find my way and head into the... I don't know what you call it. We'll call it a wind tube. It takes me to the unused test chamber and jump down the elevator hole and after I get squished... twice... I ride the piston and make my way to the room with the rising and lowering pistons. Portaling my way to a couple more pistons. And it's just portals and more portals and more piston riding until I make my way to the quick challenge room with 3 turrets behind 3 doors.
I take down the turrets and I am nearing the end now. I activate the rocket turret, break down the glass windows, there's one more to break down but I need help of portals to get the rocket moved to take down that last window. When it comes to getting through a small vent, I think there's another way to get up there. But the way I do it, I take a chair. It's not easy to get on it... nor get it straight up. But once I get it perfectly straight and close up, I get to enter through it and find myself against a huge threat against a shit load of turrets. But one by one, I carefully take them down. And then momentum my way upwards and take down 2 more turrets GLaDOS graciously sends down my way! And alas... it's a path right to GLaDOS herself. She squirts out her little morality core to which I burn down. GLaDOS begins spraying her neurotoxin and I use the rockets and portal them right to GLaDOS' body. One by one her cores are dropped and I burn each and every one of them until she slowly shuts down and her body is vacuumed up into the air. 57:11 my final time. Obviously not as good. But for not having speedran this game in a while, it wasn't bad. Now you could probably take out a few seconds because of the speedrun rules for this game. I was just using a smooth non-stop timer from start to finish. I won't plan on submitting this run anyway. Plus with the mods too, I don't think the Portal speedrun mods would accept this run anyway.
Even if they did, I'd be 2,209th place... which funnily enough is what place I am in right now. So I did no better than I did before. Placement wise. So not really worth submitting this run the mods won't accept anyway. XD!
