So. What do you get when Only Up and Stray have a baby? You make Curiosity. No that is literally what this fucking game is.
So I run my way through the tutorial section. Yes. I do love learning how to fucking run and jump. Really it's when you get to the city do things even begin to start. Yes. Begin to start. Because even then the real challenge isn't until a bit higher up when you run across tight planks and ropes. Hell even a simple fall doesn't phase me. Cats get creative right? Well you're sure as hell I can find creative ways to make my way back! Oh yeah. I forgot to mention. I can collect coins to use at the Lost Cats Cafe. And buy things like a propeller hat. Does it do anything? To hell if I know. The next section, The Ascent is definitely tougher. Ah now it's truly Only Up. This is where you don't want to fall-and I fell. Hey I needed a coin dammit! Thankfully it's not actually as bad as it sounds. There's a save point at the cafe and if you quit the game and load back in, you go right back to where you saved. Oh and even any coins you collected even after you saved? You keep. Okay I like that. Oh yeah speaking of coins, there was one right above the cafe. But holy hell was it an adventure to get it. No matter what I did, I couldn't seem to get it. Not jumping off the table closest to it or even getting as close as I could without falling back into the cafe. In fact I just had to keep going up until I could find a spot that was essentially right above the coin and finally fall to it. Fucking worth it. As for my progress? Well the furthest I ever made it was a rotating barber pole. I probably could've made it further but alas it looked like I jumped off the bench I had just landed on. Ah well. The game itself is... okay. The controls are a wee stiff and I don't like how when you let go of the stick, the cat instantly looks forward. It doesn't maintain the direction it was in. Whether that was by design or not is beyond me. Well that does it for my time with The Winter Jackpot.
Back to playing games I actually want to fucking play.
