Oh! Hello! Sorry I didn't see you there! It's so nice to meet you! My name is Mita! Yes the one from MiSide! Hehehe! I'm the internet's girlfriend and more importantly... V's girlfriend! I really enjoy my time with him! Watching him play all these new games and I finally thought it was time for me to try one! Welcome... to MitaVision!
For my debut stream, Mr. Wheel has given to me Super Mario Party Jamboree + Jamboree TV. Jamboree TV of course being the mode I check out here. Once I acquired some Joy-Con 2's, it was time to get going! Jamboree TV is basically Mario Party with a live audience. This mode includes 4 big stages. 2 of which really offer anything new. Bowser Live being the first one. I am given the option between camera and microphone games. We don't have a camera so we go with the microphone. Though this had me a little worried thinking... is it possible to play this without needing to... wake the neighbors? Either way I carry on. So we're broken into 2 teams of 2. The more minigames we win the more a gauge fills up. And whoever has filled up more by the end wins the game. Bowser Chicken is the first minigame here. You have to say "GO!" and get as close to Bowser as you can without touching him. A group of Toad's go first and get 3 points. Then it's us and somehow we also get 3 points. Toad must've been helping? But then I realized... oh shit I can just hold down Y and totally crush the competition. Well if all I need to do is hold or press Y, this'll be easy! Bowser Beats is a simple rhythm game. Really only clap when clap circle hits the beat. And when it's your cue to do so. It was close for a bit but eventually we did run away with it and Toad and I beat up the other 2 Toads by 14. Now for the last game. And suddenly everything changes because we're supposed to use our voice to answer Bowser's commands. However this time all of a sudden we can't just press Y. I guess we were actually supposed to use our voice. And because of that, team Toads won the game. Now that's just bullshit. Despite me winning 2 of the 3 games. Just for grins and giggles I tried it again but this time put white noise right to the Switch 2 microphone. But alas that didn't seem to work. If anything it didn't register anything at all and we still lost. Well great I'm already hating this fucking mode. Thankfully Carnival Coaster is... much more playable since this one utilizes the mouse mode of a Joy-Con 2 controller. Once were fastened in, we're introduced to the ride. Seems like it's already infested and we need to get rid of those bastards. First, time to pick a coaster. Well carnival coaster is the name of the mode. So I go with... Carnival Coaster!
Once taking some pests down it was time for a mini-game. Get a Grip the name of the game. Essentially rock climbing. Peach and I control our own robo hands as we try to scale the wall. We make it up and ring the bell in plenty of time to give us 20 extra seconds on the ride before making it to Bob-omb Makeover. Here we have to spray paint a bunch of Bob-ombs with a spray paint can. When it empties, we shake the Joy-Con 2 like we could a real paint can to refill it. It takes us a little longer than I had anticipated but we still get 15 seconds added to our timer. Another minigame. What's the scoop? This one was a tougher one. Despite the idea being easy, it was a little hard to tell some specific ice creams from others. All in all we still gave 6 happy Toad's some ice cream! And it was on to the final phase of the ride. Just got to get rid of all these fucking beetles first. And we finish the ride with over 1,200 points to our names. Not bad! From here I had one more time to check out the Mario Party mode which was... just... Mario Party? There wasn't really anything special about this mode here it was literally just the main Mario Party mode. Albeit there was a new frenzy mode which basically jumped you right to the homestretch with 5 modes left. Because of that we automatically start with 50 coins, a double dice, and shit even a star! And because it was the homestretch, we got one more event. In this case, more Bowser spaces. Ain't that fun. I roll last too because... naturally. Waluigi uses his double dice right off the bat and rides the elevator to take an item space to be granted a triple dice. Next Birdo takes her roll and gets lucky with a 10 coin steal trap. Rosalina uses her double dice and gets lucky with 10 coins. Then it's time for me to spin, and I end up getting a 10! Not too shabby! I figure Waluigi will get the star well before I can so I do not take the elevator. I figure I can just take the escalator. Time for a 2 v 2 game! Jump the Gun is the game and Waluigi is my partner. Thankfully Rosalina and Birdo suck and we get the dub. Waluigi to no surprise does indeed get the star. However it's at this point I realized I really fucked up. Apparently I forgot that one escalator goes up and one goes down and I guess I tried to go up the one that goes down which is why I couldn't go that way. Fuck.
I did get to duel Waluigi in some Fuzzy Heights. Wasn't even close. I crushed him by nearly 30 yards. As for the item mini-game I had to play. Oh joy a fucking half coin steal trap. That's what I wanted. Not. Well Rosalina is on my team for this next tricky game. Tricky Turntable. I don't know why or how but I somehow confused Birdo and Waluigi for our team? Please... don't ask me how. I think I was tired or something. Though I did catch on to my mistake and despite Waluigi and Birdo having 9 coins and Rosalina and I having... 1... we actually caught up and we actually ended up outcoining them! What a comeback! There's a flash sale going on but not before a Yoshi ally minigame that Waluigi activated. Despite his early boost, Yoshi was mine! I was 23 spaces from the star. I did have a generic pipe so... why not right? Well sometimes you aren't so lucky and you get put even further away from the star. Great. At least I collected me 20 coins while skating around and busting down giant snowballs in Rinks to Riches. Birdo uses her custon dice to collect the next star. Of course the next one was still a distance away from me. Just a few spaces after the boo garage. On the 1 coin Kamek shop, I end up getting a mushroom and generic pipe. Hey maybe I'll get lucky this time. It did get me a couple extra tries at the raffle but alas I wasn't lucky enough to get a golden pipe. Another 2 v2 minigame. This time Waluigi and I take on a Rocky Rope Race. Yeah it wasn't even fucking close we DOMINATED Birdo and Rosalina. One more turn. I have a shit load of coins but 1 star to my name. It's not over but I would like some luck. Birdo was only 5 away to the star but only rolled a 3. While she only had 17 coins, she was passing by a Boo garage and also could've used her mushroom. I don't know about you but I think she was pretty dumb. Well I'm 27 from the star. Might as well use the generic pipe again. Annnd it puts me right past the Boo garage. Perfect. Now I can't stea... oh wait... I'm 2 away from the star anyway. Okay yeah I knew that. XD! Plus by having Yoshi I got 2 stars! And that is how you go from last to first! I collected 20 coins from the stamp exchange plus 14 more coins from the lucky space. I'll take it! One final minigame! Another fucking 2 v 2. We've had a lot of those.
Shadow Play is the game. We have different shadow parts and we have to combine them to match the shape on screen. Yeah we swept Waluigi and Birdo. Man my teams have been DOMINANT. There was only 1 bonus star here in this mode. Despite Waluigi getting the star, I still won because I had way more coins. So while we didn't really see anything new here, it was still fun playing a quick game of Mario Party. I'll be honest though? I've found this new Jamboree TV content to be quite... underwhelming... the new Jamboree TV mode makes you think there's a lot new to offer. But really it's like... what... a 5 minute Bowser bash and a 10 minute rollercoaster ride? We paid 20 bucks for that? And really the other 2 modes are just the main Mario Party mode albeit with a frenzy mode and mouse minigames. And then there's free play but... that's about it really. Do I see any replay value? Not really especially if you can play the mouse games in the main Mario Party mode. So needless to say, I am quite disappointed. Super Mario Party Jamboree is still a super fun game. I just wish the new content had more to it. It almost felt rushed. But hey... that is Nintendo.
And you know Nintendo never disappoints to disappoint.
