i don't think pi is a color.

oh! hi! baldi here, sharing you my experience with poppy playtime chapter 2. a game v hasn't played for nearly 3 years now. this was the game i played to kickoff the random game portion of the halloween special block of 2025! and what a game to start off with right?
so i jump in and... i think i got put back to the beginning of the chapter. it's possible when v last played this, either he quit out when the game hadn't saved yet or there was a save file conflict. but it had been so long anyway. maybe it was a good thing to go back to the start. and right off the bat we have an issue. there's an open cage in front of me. behind me is a hallway leading to a small room of sorts. don't know what kind of room it is. maybe some sort of bedroom? there are a lot of pillows. There's a bunch of stuff blocking the open corridor and for a few minutes, i scramble around figuring out what i am supposed to do. i had the right idea of the door but i never realized i was supposed to press e to interact with it. i was trying to open it with my grabpack. oops. so i walk into... uh... the playtime factory... there was just a house connected to this? anyways i walk down the corridor and i want to just stop the moment i hear someone say "this way" to me. like... no thank you. i am good. but i had no choice but to move forward. there was only one open way to go so i headed that way. i have to latch on to a bar on the ceiling of the hallway to sling me across. another door i can open leads me to a small storage room that holds a key to the elliot ludwig room. the room itself feels very... homey... very... personal. like a personal space to whom i presume belonged to mr. ludwig himself. there's a tape on the table and i feed it into the vhs player. the tape explains a brief history of playtime co and its creator... elliot ludwig. whos face is redacted out. which has always been a fascinating thing such as in found footage and analog horror videos. just leaving those key details out really makes you wander and search for deeper clues. despite all the struggles that ludwig had gone through, that didn't stop him from his motivation to keep his playtime co factory running and putting smiles on childrens faces with his toys. as the tape went on, it came to an abrupt stop as it was about to explain how ludwig stayed determined even after his wife passed away. we'll just say it started between 1900 and 1999.
i lift down a partially open vent and oh boy here we go. a tight, dim lit corridor. everyone's favorite in a horror game. but ironically that's not what scared me. do you know what did? the voice of poppy herself. you expect such a big jumpscare and sometimes it's a little peep that makes your heart race instead. poppy gives me access to one of those electric connectors for my grabpack hands. i activate... whatever it was i activated. poppy thanks me for freeing her and invites me to go back into that corridor vent thingy. which... takes me a while to do given i have to now make something to let me back up. and let's just say poppy was definitely... impatient. but once back into mr. ludwig's office, poppy takes the vent and i open the door to the left of mr. ludwig's room. i swing again using my grabpack to hang on to a bar on the ceiling of the hallway as... well let's just say there is a very deep pit and i don't think it's the best of ideas to fall down it. i see poppy observing a massive hole in... maybe some sort of backstage access? poppy advises that i trust her but as she says that, she is taken by someone and forced down the hole... welp! nice knowing her! it's only a matter of time before i finally jump down the hole. where i must face... an easy yet incredibly challenging puzzle where i have to connect another electrical line. but if i hit one of those light posts, a gate comes up and disconnects my line. and no i can't just carefully move my way around and connect the points without touching a post. so what do i do? my first thought was... what if i use something to block the gates? question though is... what do i use? maybe one of those large cubes? no they won't fit. there was a small little toy head though i could use. but... would it work? unlikely. it's very small and hard to control around. but maybe i was on to something because when i touched the line to the first post now, my line didn't disconnect! but then i tried to connect to the 2nd point without touching the 2nd post and that disconnected my line. and since then i couldn't use the head again to stop the gates. so now what?
well there's this large blue pole i can use to wrap my line around and that seems to be able to get me to touch the first light post without my line breaking. as for the other one... well i have to get creative once i touch it. i am just able to jump up on the catwalk railing and use my other hand to finally connect the 2nd point. took me longer than i needed but i figured it out! that opened the door to the game station. i use my right hand to open the next door-no nevermind. my hand gets ripped off and this big ass spider comes crawling down. oh great. i'm dead. seems like this mommy character has uh... well... killed our friend poppy. damn... she was so young too. may she rest in peace. surprisingly though, this mommy character doesn't seem as threatening as i thought she would. she actually seems kind of passive. she offers that if i can play all 3 of her games that she'll give me the train code. the only rule, follow the rules of the games themselves. or mommy will do very... very bad things to me... (gulp). so i pull the lever down to the game station. seems like mommy's interactive speaker toy is a little... busted. so it seems like this mommy character is named mommy longlegs after i pull down another lever that gets me started with the games. i have to head back down to the musical memory game. though it seems like the entry door is... busted. thankfully it seems like another route was opened for me! though the next room i enter doesn't feel much like a musical memory room. there's some buttons and some machines that look like faces. i press the first flashing button which seems to make some foam fill up the right face's mouth. gross. the next lever makes some of the foam spit out a pipe. and then... that same button flashes. so what do i do? i see another electrical connection point yet my hand doesn't seem to do anything when i interact with it. i keep pressing the button to spit out more foam and that button keeps flashing. so what do i do? there is another tv and vhs player so there must be a tape somewhere. that somewhere being right on the end of the 4 buttons panel.
so i pick up the tape and put it in the player. this time the tape seems to be a tutorial on how to use the green hand. which can be used to absorb electricity from green power outlets. from then the green hand will be temporarily charged up for 10 seconds and i can take that charge to power receivers. but just like the hand, the charge is also temporary. so where do i get a green hand though? so you know the pipe i mentioned that was spitting out foam? well it turns out the pipe was busted and i needed to fix it. so now the foam can properly be dispensed into the hands machine which cleans up a group of hands which can then be painted green... or not because the paint machine is completely empty. ain't that nice? conveniently there is a fresh paint can delivered for me right up top! so i refill the paint and we are ready to rock! i power up the hand and deliver the electricity to the receiver. i walk through a small corridor and finally... we're playing musical memory! the screens have... uh... they're a little dirty. that's it. it's practically simon says. with a twist. there's this bunzo character who slowly comes down as i play and if i get a color wrong, it comes done quicker. but for every sequence i get correct, it goes back up. for every round i play, the game gets more difficulty. nothing i can't handle. despite mommy longlegs trying to make this threatening, the game doesn't seem difficult. round 2 randomly adds in an extra color which throws me off. but... not bad. round 3 adds in yet another color. you'd think it would be overwhelming. but it's not so bad when your first 4 colors are orange, red, red, orange. later on in that round, another new color appeared. but again, i got through the rest of the round just fine. round 4 adds a new color. j... uh... j? j's not a fucking color! it's a letter of the alphabet!... i don't think this game is working properly. oh and then there's a heart symbol. yeah this game is busted. and pi? yeah sure. and now come round 5 and okay now this is getting ridiculous with the billions of symbols now appearing before me. and now i think this game is truly broken as now it's giving me a sequence i can't begin to comprehend. thankfully there's an emergency shut off button. and mommy longlegs seems disappointed that the game is now broken. but mommy still gives me a part of the train code anyway because she still thought my performance was impressive.
i find a vent i can go through and on the other end is an old storage room filled with toys! there's an upper area that has one of those electric transmitters for my green hand, a platform, and another tv and vhs player. so there had to be a tape here somewhere. there's a button that lifts the small platform to the next open area. but the massive dinosaur on it is preventing it from going all the way up. there's a lever i can pull to the left of the tv... who knows what that does? it's not easy finding the tape in this room. so i decide to focus on trying to get up to the next open area. the dinosaur is putting weight on the platform. but i cheat the system a bit and use a box to give me a boost. unfortunately it doesn't seem like there is much up there. nothing i can interact with. so i need to either get that tape or find something that can perhaps actually move the dinosaur out of the way. the only issue, i have no clue where either thing is. and i essentially destroy (not really) the storage room looking for the tape. finally i felt like i was truly stuck. despite being the smart teacher that i am, i too need a little help from the internet. a quick chatgpt query later and the tape was stuck on a ladder on the same side as the small staircase. so i put the tape in and... well this one is very different. perhaps it's a complaint message from a disappointed employee. i don't know if the toy in the shot was the one who was talking or if it was just... put there. seems like playtime co wasn't too thrilled about this dudes complaints though as he was demoted to the island of misfit toys. that sucks if i say so myself. so now how do i get rid of the dinosaur? there is this claw i saw earlier and it turns out, i can move it! the claw moves on this ceiling track and i can bring it all the way right under the dinosaur. isn't that convenient? the claw has an electric receiver so i use my green hand to grab some electricity and transfer it to the receiver on the claw. from then it moves the dinosaur out of the way and i can properly ride up the platform which then opens another door in that upper area, letting me make progress. but that's where i ended off for now.
got to admit, mommy longlegs is nowhere near as scary as i thought she'd be.
