NES-A-Thon PTSD intensifies.

We got a real packed game this time on The Winter Jackpot. UFO 50 is the name of the game. 50 games in 1? Does that mean I just actually got 155 new games for this series? XD!
My plan with UFO 50 is to actually try to beat all 50 games. And not just have it be a showcase of each game. Starting with the first and only game I checked out... that's already a good sign. It's Barbuta. It's very retro... very 8-bit... very shit ass NES game looking I am so in for a good time. On my left is my cash, items, and mini map. And on my right are 6 eggs resembling 6 lives... or... 6 extra lives you can say. Technically I have 7 lives. All I have on me right now is nothing but a sword. I head to my left, kind of a baren area. Just some platforms and ladders. Going down the bottom most ladder... I don't know why this area exists. Is it a practice area for climbing ladders? There's fucking nothing to do here. I don't know what the fuck the A and B are at the top. Heading back up and to the left, there's a couple mushrooms jumping around. Don't touch them. They are poisonous. The next screen to the left has another jumpy poison mushroom. So I head down the ladder as fast as possible. Down here are a couple creatures chucking their boomerang pickaxes. Don't touch the pickaxes, they will kill you. Heading on downward, there's a couple more boomerang pickaxe... I'll call them boompick dudes. There's also a golden skull and a bat flying around. Don't touch the bat. It kills you. Yeah so I wasted all my lives here trying to jump over boompick's... uh... pick's. Oh yeah this game is also a massive fucking troll. On the main screen if you go to the right, there's a chunk of ceiling that squashes you. Haha. So funny. Now that I just wasted a life, I can keep going to the right. There's a door I can go through but not much I can do after. On the other side is a platform that's too high for me to jump on. After completely failing to get around some spikes the first time, I come across a new enemy... uh... robohead that spits spit balls. Call it robospit. On the low area of this section are some bubble blocks. Those of which I can't do anything with yet. So I head on up. There's a few more robospit guys. To my right are a couple more ladders... guarded by only a single... flying eye. Yes. It hurts you. The right most ladder just goes to a dead end. The left most ladder I can actually go somewhere. I take the door where there's a floor of spikes below me and a... uh... jelly dude?
The jelly dudes seem to be passive. This one tells me to... clean out the room first. What this room? Or another one? It has to be another one right? There's nothing to clean out here. Heading out and going left takes me back to the room with the first robospit dude I encountered. Heading back outside, I want to head up the ladder and keep going upward. But there's 2 robospit dudes stacked on one another. And no matter what my timing and positioning is, I don't think you can get past those dudes. So I am back at the start. Turns out that while semi hidden, there is a button on the floor that activates the troll ceiling. You can jump over it to stop it from falling. From here on out, every time I get back to the start, I will be going to the right. From there I want to see what happens if I try to go as low as I can. Turns out there's a nice floor of spikes that want to impale me. I want nothing to do with that. Back up and to the left, there's a very acid filled room with acid pools, acid leaks from above, and acid blobs. You know the drill. There's a passage to the left I can go through and find a chest with an umbrella inside. To hell if I know what that does. I thought maybe I could use it to give me more floaty jumps? But it doesn't seem to look like so? There's another chest back in the acid room that has 50 bucks in it! Yeah boy money! Going even higher, there's not much I can do. There's a chest above me but I am surrounded by blocks I can't break. So now it's a matter of where the hell do I go? Eventually I find out there's a ladder I can climb down in the acid room. More ladders to climb down, more bats to avoid. There's another chest but I can't get to i. So I keep going downward. Even more acid fills up this next area. There's a chest in the lower right area of this room. But I fail miserably to get to it because of a crumbly platform that breaks open below me. Welp that was my last life there. Just got to make it back to where I was... yaaaay... I do eventually get the umbrella again. I get my money, I waste a couple lives, this time I do make it to the chest I failed to get to before. Without letting that one platform die below me. All that for a measly 100 bones. Headed left now, more platforming and another bat to avoid. Whoopdy-doo... fucking bats are evil. Their movement is so unpredictable I tell you.
The next section to the left, there's a wall of bubbles blocking my way. And while there is a ladder I can access, the acid drip is too fast for me to be able to fully go up the ladder. After facing more acid blobs up top, I head to a door and now I meet another passive jelly. I swear what these things say is so fucking cryptic. Keep an eye out for anything out of the norm? I mean fuck at this point everything is out of the norm. Suddenly I recalled something I noticed earlier. I think I know that the umbrella is used for. I can't fully confirm but I think it's for not taking damage from acid drops. So I CAN go up that ladder. Hell yeah progress! I head up another ladder through some bushy leaves, the door up in the next section actually takes me to that higher platform I saw before but couldn't reach because it was too high. The chest to my left has 100 more bones in it. Back out the door and too the left and... oh... this is a familiar area. It's the room that had the 2 boompicks, the golden skull, and the 1 bat that nearly kills me off the bat... hehe... off the BAT. But then it does kill me and I am game overed fuck. Well, got to reclaim my umbrella and money. I head back to the ladder I can indeed climb because I have the umbrella-WHAT IN THE FUCK IS THAT? Why is their a massive ghost skull looking ass that so doesn't look friendly? Why? What did I do to deserve being face to face with THAT? Thankfully I have time to evade it but fuck that was creepy. Going down the bottom most ladder in the room with the 2 boompicks, golden skull, yadda yadda, going left takes me... nowhere... a dead end... so now what do where go? I don't know really. And I don't really have time to find out because I get game overed again because of a fucking boomerang pickaxe! Wow this really is turning out to just be a shit ass NES game! XD! Once again I reclaim my umbrella and money. In the room of the golden skull, I never know how I never discovered it before but there is another passive jelly I come across. This one is actually useful. It sells me shit. What shit? Trash and a pin. I don't know what in the fuck the trash does. But I go back to the room where I found my first robospit. There was a wall of bubbles that blocked me before. But it looks like now that I have the pin, I can pop them. Nice! That opens up new possibilities for me!
Down here, to the left there is a chest I can access with 100 bones. To my right, a very blue room. With a giant guard looking dude. Yep... it kills you. I can't seem to do anything here. But there is another way I can get lower. Even more giant guards around a lower area. But I can get around them and find another ladder room with another B A thingy at the top. Though there doesn't seem to be much I can do here. It's another dead end for now. I pop some more bubbles, the area is so beyond blue here. I find another passive jelly chilling here who actually trades me my sword for a magical rod. Well I'm sure that'll help. Or not. Somehow I get back to a previous area. I don't know how I go from blue room to acid blobs. I think maybe it has to do with which way I am coming from. So I guess from here the blue room is to the right. But originally I can't get there because I have no way of getting there. Even with a ladder right next to the platform that takes me to said blue room, I can't just fall off the ladder while on it. So I climb up and despite my best efforts to deal with the bats, they still outpower me. Yeah I think I'll call it here. It's been over an hour now in the stream. I guess I'm making... moderate progress? I don't know what my overall goal is but I'm sure I'll find out.
If the final boss is a giant bat, I will fucking lose my shit.
