Pretty colors!

So a while back, V checked out a game called LIDAR.EXE for the Halloween Block of 2025. And in that game, you use a little lidar gun to draw dots in front of you to help you see where you need to go. And since then a full game has been released! LiDAR Exploration Program. And I got the honor of checking it out.

Yes this game has backstory. It's actually an old CD game you put into your computer's... floppy disk drive? No I'm serious that has to be a floppy drive. But somehow putting the CD into the computer just works? Okay sure yeah pal. Sure. So we get introduced to Scanny. He'll be our partner in crime in this adventure! There's 8 total levels you can play starting with the forest! Just like in LIDAR.EXE, you use your gun to draw dots around you. You can choose how big the area you discover is too. In these maps, I need to discover X amount of items. 6 in the first level here. I do have access to a map to find the items easier. When I do come across an object, it's put into a box frame and my lidar gun tells me how much of the object I have discovered. Nothing better than a strange arch to start off! An ancient artifact is not far away and the Great Deku Tree is only feet away from the artifact... okay so it's not the Deku Tree but a skeleton can dream dammit! XD! I admit the dots really do make such a pretty sight. Like a colorful light show! There's a deer skeleton-did its head just fucking move? The last couple items do take a little more traversing to get to. Not as easy as walking in a straight line. Funny how I almost thought I got softlocked? Guess that's what I get for exploring too much. I was able to thankfully escape. And also make Sonic drown in his tears because he couldn't make fun of me. XD! A trip across the river lets me find the ruined temple and one more... I'm sorry I just have to do this "SOMEBODY ONCE TOLD ME THE WORLD IS GONNA ROLL ME"! no I am sorry that is actually Shrek's potty. XD! After finding my way to the exit, I unlock the next level. And also the detail scanning feature which lets me essentially scan the area from my view completely from top down. Oh and I notice that scrolling though the levels seems to make the music go... slower? Uh... it's probably nothing. For now, to the island! The first object is close. And also really big no seriously that skull is MASSIVE! I also come across a shipwreck not too far from the skull. Wonder if there are any pirate skeleton buddies in there! And hey when there's pirates, there's treasure. Beeg treasure! I guess I didn't realize this was pirate's island. Okay more of a... pirate mesozoic island because I also find a creature skeleton.

And then there's a massive pirate skull I find which I shit you not legit looked like a shirt when I first started to scan it. So did my baby girl Monika! And of course, no island is complete without a light house. All in its glorious red and white stripes! To the exit! And to the sunken city! Now just judging from the noises I almost want to bet I am actually underwater. Looks like I got my diving suit on! Immediately I find a sea shell. I mean I guess I am UNDER DA SEA! XD! Lol I'm sorry I can't help myself! There's also... well I don't know what considers a building to be chained but it is here. Don't know why there were some weird gaps in the dots I was putting in when scanning. Ah well. I still found what I needed! I guess a whale once roamed this sea city. And now it's dead. And I find its bones lying around. I think this game has a thing with skeletons. Hey I ain't complaining. I'm a skeleton myself! Aw and how cute? A Ferris wheel! In fact a nice small carnival here! Talk about a nice romantic trip for Monika and I! Sadly you can't get on the wheel. Yes, I tried. Still 3 more items to find including a big fucking mine. Just right here in the open of the sea. Well damn now Monika and I should really ride that wheel before it gets blown to pieces. There's another sunken ship. Guess some poor lads wanted to explore the city and their plans went... okay well you know maybe it's not the best idea to assume the worst. Now tell me... why the fuck am I straight up scanning a person here? Should I be scared? Do I need to run? Why do the first 3 discovered letters of the object literally spell DIE... I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE KENFOREST! Thankfully though nothing does happen when I scan the diver. Besides it shaking a bit. Okay off I go! Finishing this level also unlocks me Bats Scan! I can use bats! To scan! I don't really use them here in the suburb. I can if I want but I prefer just the standard scanning method. Right off the bat I scan a payphone. Damn. Wrong number. There's also one of those kitty playgrounds with what almost looks like one of those giant tic-tac-toe games that always seems to get dirty and greasy and disgusting. Makes me shudder thinking about it. Ew. I don't know what a massive light bulb is doing in the sky-no never mind it's a hot air balloon. I knew that. XD!

And a massive squeaky duck too because fuck it! XD! I guess a crypt has to be thrown in there too. You know, playground? Ducky? Fucking... crypt? And an observatory which I almost thought was some sort of stationary tank. No I mean it really does have a cannon looking thing but I guess it's supposed to be a telescope. One final item to find. A plane riding high in the sky. It's also dragging along an ad with it. Yeah it's a thing people like to do. Fly ads in the sky... huh... that logo on the ad looks... familiar...

I don't know. Maybe a drug company. XD!
