Soldering king!

I'm a techy guy... in fact I've always been a techy guy. I mean shit I have loved computers since I was like... fucking... 4 years old. And here now at 22 and you better believe I still love computers. So when I saw this game, I was like... oh hell yeah I have to play this! That game being ServiceIT!
Being new to this game, I get a lay of the land. Getting an idea on what its like to play with components like a motherboard. And helping clients with issues they have. Such as Paper Solution who needs me to fix their server users. Because they can't fucking do such a thing themselves. The real meat and potatoes here comes when I start the courses. In this case here, we start with soldering! Using an RFID board as our test bench. Oh yeah it makes it feel as realistic as possible. Hey you want to be a real technical engineer? You got to know the specifics. After getting a clean of the board, it's on to the multimeter. With its many modes, you can measure just about any electrical value. In this case we're reading the values given to us from resistors. And there was one that was reading only 6kΩ. About 4kΩ short of what it's supposed to be. That's our bad guy right there. So time to desolder it... obviously having to realize I need to set the solder tip to the right temperature. And also not realizing there was just a 300 degree button. I mean I saw it, didn't realize it was a button. And yes you have to wait for it to warm up to that temperature. So I get the resistor replaced and now it's time to test the reader. Making sure to set the power supply to the proper voltage and amps. Or shit gets fucked up. When I determine all is good, I can put the reader back together! And now it's time to deal with a client who needs help with this issue. Time to put my training to the test! It is quite literally what I just did in the tutorial. Obviously being able to do it much, much quicker. And getting a perfect score! Hell yeah! Aura Walker needs a different project done. An Ethernet module eh? It's not much more of a challenge. It's honestly the same idea, check the resistors and make sure their values align to where they're supposed to be. I think I found all of just 1 that had a bad value. So let's replace-and what do you mean there's no matching components! I bought it! I HAVE IT-oh i bought the wrong resistor... yeah that'd do it. That's all I had to do there. No power supply to test it with. Just ship it off and we're good! With those jobs done... and also making my place more lively... I can unlock another course. I take a moment to decide but ultimately go with more soldering.
This one focuses on diodes and capacitors. Which can only have their electrical value measured when you desolder them. There's still no jobs for me but there's stuff I can buy to still fix up. Like a LilyPAD. No not the one from Toy Story 5. This game came out in 2024 mind you. This project wasn't horrible. All I really needed, after measuring everything was one new resistor and one new capacitor. Really the toughest part was actually figuring out how to sell this thing. It's possible the game told me before but I forgot because my brain is a mushy, gooey mess. But I did find out and made some good cash out of it!
...so now when do i start working on actual computers?
