Well I couldn't redeem the Tigers against the Guardians. That's pretty pitiful. Could I redeem them against the Braves who had over 100 wins in 2023? Boy I don't know.

Game 1 starts with Charlie Morton... yeah we all know how that went in real life. But here, I actually get out of the top 1st without giving up any runs! Oh so it is that easy! Of course it's a 1-2-3 bottom first inning as per usual in these episodes. But so is the top 2nd! Riley Greene gets a good hit in bottom 2nd but just quite isn't gone. Wenceel Perez gets a single but McKinstry and Torkelson are out to end the inning. 1-2-3 top 3rd. With 2 outs in the bottom 3rd, Colt Keith gets a single but Parker Meadows strikes out. After walking Austin Riley in top 4th, Atlanta gets on the board as Matt Olson hits a 2 run bomb. So now we're trailing 2 to zip. Great. No more runs given up after that. But yeesh... that is not good. But it doesn't take long for my boy Kerry Carpenter to BLAST a ball to make it 2 to 1 Atlanta! Now we're on the board! HUZZAH! Riley Greene flies out, Wenceel Perez strikes out, and Zach McKinstry... ties the game with another home run! Hey Atlanta... you enjoy your brief lead? Tork lines out to end the inning. But we tie it at 2! Annnd the tie is over. With Michael Harris II at 1st, Ronald Acuna Jr. gets a triple and it's 3-2 Atlanta. Shit. At least Acuna doesn't score as we head to bottom 5th as Trey Sweeney just like that ties it at 3 with another solo bomb! Dillon Dingler flies out. But holy shit! Colt Keith DESTROYS a ball and it's 4-3 Detroit! Holy shit I got the lead! Meadows strikes out and Carpenter pops out. But hey... we got a 1 run lead! A top 6th that ends in 1-2-3 and we head to the bottom!... which is also a 1-2-3 inning. But so is top 7th! Atlanta sends in a new pitcher and Spencer Torkelson has no issue getting a single off this guy! And Trey Sweeney has no issue hitting a home run! It's 6-3 Detroit! Dingler, Keith and Meadows all get out. But I extend the lead! I'll take it! Braves don't do jack shit in top 8th and holy shit Charlie Morton might get a complete game. Carp and Greene get their outs and Perez gets a ground rule double. But the run doesn't score as McKinstry flies out. Alright... let's finish it! And finish I do! It's another 1-2-3 inning. Atlanta just gives up and I get the game 1 dub! No sweat!

Game 2 of this redemption series has Keider Montero at the mound. And no issue for him as he gets a 1-2-3 inning! But so does Chris Sale for Atlanta. Matt Olson gets a double to start top 2nd. But despite that, he doesn't score! Out of the hole! With 1 out, I get a clean and successful bunt with Meadows which puts him safe at 1st! Alright I'll take it! Riley Greene with a soft tapper. He's out at 1st and Meadows heads to 2nd. And a Trey Sweeney double lets Meadows score! 1-0 Tigers! And a Javy Baez double lets Sweeney score! 2-0! Dingler flies out but I got a 2 run lead! Nice! Top of the 3rd goes 1-2-3 and so does bottom 3rd. Austin Riley singles in top 4th and that's all she wrote. Riley Greene with a 2 out single in bottom 4th but Trey Sweeney with a pop out right to the catcher. A quiet top 5th and in bottom 5th with 1 out, Dingler with a dinger and it's 3 to zip! Colt Keith with a 1 out single. Carp flies out. And fuck it... let's try to steal a base yeah?... that failed miserably. No business doing in top 6th. Tork was the last batter in bottom 5th. He'll be the first in bottom 6th. And he'll crush a ball into center field to make it 4 to zip! I'll take it! Andy Ibanez grounds out. But how does another perfect Meadows bunt sound? That sounds good! A Riley Greene double play does not. Too bad that doesn't happen. The infielder throws very... VERY wide to 2nd and the ball gets away and Greene is safe at 1st and Meadows at 2nd! Alrighty then! Trey Sweeney singles to load the bases. Javy Baez hits a sac fly and literally everyone advances and Meadows scores! Easy! I try bunting with Dingler. That was not easy. To the top 7th we go! Austin Riley singles. That's it. Bottom 7th! Colt Keith flies out and Kerry Carpenter is still my hero! Nothing more after that but we looking good with a 6 to zip lead! In top 8th, Sean Murphy singles and then Orlando Arcia grounds to a double play. So it's like the single never happened! Michael Harris II singles with what should've been a caught ball by Greene. But Ronald Acuna Jr grounds out so it's like the error never happened. No business in bottom 8th. But I got a 6 run lead. I should be good! And good I was! It's another 1-2-3 to end it! I still got one more game to play. But regardless what happens... THE TIGERS ARE REDEEMED!

Game 3, we got Mize on the mound! And he delivers a top 1st 1-2-3! Headed to bottom 1st, Colt Keith starts us with a single! Parker Meadows is very lucky with a single as the outfielder just could not grab the ball. Oof am I right? And Wenceel Perez gets a single! Bases loaded, nobody out! And here comes Kerry Carpenter! Grand Slam time? Uh... no... he grounds out. No chance for a double play thankfully and Keith scores! Riley Greene flies out and Javy Baez... a soft tapper right through center to let Meadows and Perez score! How about that? 3-0 and we're already feeling a sweep! Tork would fly out. But I like a 3-0 lead! In the top 2nd, with 1 out, Marcell Ozuna gets a single but doesn't score. Bottom 2nd, Trey Sweeney singles, Jake Rogers lines out, and Colt Keith DESTROYS a ball! 5-0 Tigers! Hell yeah! Parker Meadows with a double and Wenceel Perez with a sac bunt to get Meadows to 3rd, Carp NEARLY gets a hit but the ball is just foul and ends up striking out. But it's 5-0! A 1-2-3 top 3rd and with 2 outs in bottom 3rd, Tork hits a single but doesn't score. Trey Sweeney is just short of a homer. 1-2-3 top 4th and Jake Rogers of all people gets a no out double in bottom 4th and a Colt Keith single puts Rogers to 3rd! Parker Meadows grounds into a double play but Rogers is able to score! Perez with a 2 out single and Kerry Carpenter flies out. 6-0 Tigers! Oh yeah... we gonna sweep these Braves! Marcell Ozuna hits a homer... well there goes the shutout. Still 6-1. We'll be fine! Okay well with 2 outs Orlando Acria also hits a solo homer... let's not make things funny here. Thankfully Michael Harris II grounds out to prevent further damage. Still a 4 run lead! Nothing doing in bottom 5th or all of 6th. Matt Olson singles in top 7th and now I think it's a good time to get the bullpen going. We might actually needed it here. I decide to intentionally walk Marcell Ozuna. He's been pretty good. Sure now there's guys on 1st and 2nd, nobody out. But Jorge Soler is 0 for 2... hits a home run... it's 6 to 5... fuck... Sean Murphy singles but Orlando Arcia grounds into a double play. And Michael Harris II flies out into foul territory. But... huh... it's a 1 run game... that ain't good.

A 1-2-3 bottom 7th which has us stay at a 1 run lead. Shit. I bring in Tyler Holton to start the top 8th to which he also gets a 1-2-3. In bottom 8th, Riley Greene with a single, Javy Baez with a fly out. Spencer Torkelson does not ground into a double however Greene is out at 2nd. And Sweeney gets the force out. Welp... 1 run game going to top 9. Can I clutch it out? Marcell Ozuna with a 1 out single and also steals 2nd. At least my throw wasn't shit off. Jorge Soler gets a strike out and I am 1 out away from a sweep! Can me and Will Vest clutch it o-no we absolutely cannot. Sean Murphy with a single to get Ozuna to score and it's a tie fucking game. Great. Arcia strikes out looking. So we go to bottom 9th with a shot to win it! With a 1 out, Colt Keith with a dou... oh no... I guess he wants 3rd. I don't want him to get 3rd. But it's too late and he's tagged out. The CPU wants me to lose I guess. Meadows flies out and we head to extras. It doesn't take long for Michael Harris II to make it 7-6 Braves. Braves first lead of the game... huh this seems familiar... I actually play with the defense here. I strike out Ronald Acuna Jr and intentionally walk Ozzie Albies. I want the double play. I don't. Austin Riley does fly out but with Harris II at 3rd, he tags for home to make it 8-6 Braves. Matt Olson grounds... no he doesn't. I guess Tork just didn't want the ball and Olson is safe. White Merrifield would get the ground out. But now I'm down by 2 with work to do. Shit. Perez flies out, Carp pops out, and Greene pops out for a 1-2-3 bottom 10th. (sigh) That sucks. And a heartbreaker of a series finale. Up 6- 0 just to lose 8-6. You hate to see it. But... still won 2 of 3 anyway. Would've liked the sweep... but one way or another we can still say...

The Tigers have been redeemed!
