Well I avoided Andy's Apple Farm. Thank fuck. And instead I got to play Sonic X Shadow Generations! The remaster of the original Sonic Generations plus a Shadow side story to it!

Despite a continue option, there is apparently no save data for me to load. Yeah sadly it looks like you can't carry over save data from the original Sonic Generations to the remaster. But it's been a long ass time since I played the OG Generations anyway that... fuck it I'll restart. Once again, we find ourselves, classic Sonic and all in the original Green Hill and HOLY FUCK SONIC IS FAST! I don't know if it's because I haven't played in a long ass time but I swear I do not remember Sonic being that fast. Sometimes it's hard for me to tell where I am going. Everything is literally a blur. Even then, I still literally blast my way through Green Hill and beat the level. A rank and all! Sonic does his victory lap when... uh oh weird noise. But he thinks it's nothing... until he turns... and realizes... it's not nothing. Back to the present, it's Sonic's birthday! All of his friends are there, they're having a great time, what could go wro-EVERYTHING WENT WRONG! That same not nothing Classic Sonic saw invades present day to suck away all Sonic's friends... and all life while its at it until all that's left is pure white. Time to save Sonic's friends. To Green Hill Act 2! A very modernized Green Hill. This time it's a front view, and we have a boost mechanic. Yep, Sonic is still Mach fucking speed. I also have a homing attack I can use to blast enemies and quickly land on springs. And yet I can't simply jump from rail to rail. Sometimes the simple things in life are harder. The level does eventually go back to a classic side view as I continue to blast through it. All before going back to front in a cave area. No I still can't jump across rails. Also, beeg robo fish. The end of the level here isn't a sign. It's a ring. I get the ring and win the level. Not as good here though. Only a B rank. Fuck I am such a loser. But I got to save Tails! Also something I find interesting is that they completely redid all voice lines in this game. Why? To hell if I know. Maybe it has to do something for the Shadow Generations part? But that's my best guess. Like they wanted all voices to be consistent. Also Sonic talks after the character saved expresses thanks. That wasn't a thing in the original Generations. But present day Tails still meets Classic Sonic. That part hasn't changed.

From here it's off to Chemical Plant zone. I decide to run through Act 1 as Classic Sonic. This is also the first level that I collect red rings here. Thankfully unlike Sonic Lost World, red rings don't count towards a Chaos Emerald. But instead just stuff like art pieces for the games museum. Also, the speed shoes in this game? Last like... 2 seconds and the effect is gone. Oh yeah, the game still rocks the Nintendo DS sounds when you're underwater. Speaking of which, the underwater section has another red ring which I was very destined to get before I beat the level. Got it just under 3 minutes, giving me another A rank! Act 2 is a go with Modern Sonic! And already I fail to stay on the platform I am running on. I mean to be fair it's a little hard to control myself when I am going 30 trillion miles an hour. I just figure if I keep my thumb off the stick I should be okay. Oh and I am so fast, I am faster than Omochao's tutorial. Not only that... but I redeem myself. And I know that you have no clue what the fuck I am talking about. The underwater section has these 2 boxes circling around. And I don't know how but last time when I played this level, I some how got stuck in that area. It was on a corner too. And was scared for my life that I was going to drown. I didn't. I died to energy ball thingy... Here I didn't get stuck at all. So I'm already doing better! And I was able to beat the level with a perfect A rank! Cue another cutscene. Sonic and Tails knows it's Chemical Plant. But not West Side Island... did Sonic and Tails even mention a West Side in the original Generations? I don't know. Again... it's been a long ass time. Oh yeah. Amy's saved. So now she can obsess over Sonic while they're all in the white void. It's on to Sky Sanctuary Zone. Also known as... there are signs warning death and I still die. It's going to be a long ride. I think I thought I could home on the enemy that was there. Not realizing... you can't fucking do homing attacks with Classic Sonic. Now that I can get past it, I can run across the nature filled historical landmarks. Oh and with a nice death egg in the background. I find another red ring high between 2 bouncy clouds. You better believe I am not beating this level until I get that damn ring. Towards the end of the level, oh no the platforms are falling? Omochao... did you forget I am faster than the speed of fucking light?

Time to tackle Act 2 as Modern Sonic. Omochao teaches me about freestyle tricks... but I don't know if I really understood it. I don't know what the fuck the 4 arrows are telling me. No I don't know how to do the tricks with rainbow rings either. Oh and my point of advice? When the game tells you to push either the left or right shoulder... uh... don't? Like... haha oh wow such funny troll game. But either way, I hit the goal ring to finish Sky Sanctuary and free our boy Mr. Knuckle Head! Holy fuck he sounds so different. The most different sounding character so far from the original generations. I guess they didn't have the budget for Travis Willingham anymore. I decided to check out some of the challenges now. Tails: Toxic Skies being the first challenge where I must get through Chemical Plant Act 1 as Classic Sonic with the help of Classic Tails! Not an overly difficult level. Other than a part where I hit the button to summon Tails but it didn't work and I ended up falling to my death instead. Completing a challenge lets me ring a bell to which then I have to chase down a music note, if I get it, I get a random piece for the museum. For Modern Sonic, his challenge for Chemical Plant Act 2 is to survive it with only 1 ring. There's a ring right at the start and that's all you get. If you lose it, boy good fucking luck. And boy what difference it makes when you have no rings. You could blame me going a little too fast. But at the same time, S rank was 90 seconds. Albeit the level isn't incredibly long. I just spent a longer time on it. Mostly because I kept starting over a lot when I lost my ring. After a bit, I did eventually beat the level at 88 seconds. BARELY just giving me the S rank. I still had some time up my sleeve so I checked out the Aqua Shield Challenge. As Classic Sonic, I have to reach the goal in the bubble shield. Obviously, a hell of a lot easier than the other challenge I just took on. I was just a little slow my first go. Completing the level at just under 2:10, giving me the A rank. I wanted to go for S. It did help that I knew where I was going now. I saved just over a minute my 2nd go to give me S. And that's where I called it for the night. It was nice to return to this game. And sometimes in life all you need is a restart... which is why I am restarting this blog article!

Never mind I don't feel like rewriting everything I just said.
