Well... the Lions won. Was it a good win? Abso-fucking-lutely not. That was an ATROCIOUS performance delivered by the Lions at home. After losing to Philly just the week prior, I thought this would've been a better game... it wasn't. Something's gotten in the Lions heads and it's fucking with them. They really need to snap out of it. They certainly didn't against New York.

Detroit would defer the ball to the 2nd half and very quickly it almost seemed like New York was going to go 3 and out... until Hutchinson had an offsides penalty. And then a Giants trick play... back toss to Singletary back to Winston all the way to Robinson for a 39 yard touchdown and the Giants are on the board first. Ah so the Lions tradition continues. Don't worry I'm sure the Giants defense is ass. Lions will go down the field and-you gotta be fucking kidding me JACK FOX IS ON THE FIELD? Sucks too because the Lions had 3rd and 7 at the Giants 36. I mean yeah it wouldn't have been a gimme field goal. But Bates could've kicked a 53 yarder... and of course Goff gets sacked and now we're well out of Bates' range. At least New York goes 3 and out... and then so does Detroit. New York back on offense and a fucking Unnecessary Roughness call on Branch puts the Giants first and fucking goal at the 8. Oh don't fucking tell me it's about to be 14-0 Giants... well? Thankfully it's not! 4th and Goal and Giants settle for 3. Still sucks it's 10-0 Giants. First time the Giants had a 10 point lead after the first in... however fucking long it said. It's only until the 2nd quarter where the Lions do something. I guess having Dan Skipper report was good luck because now we have 20 yards to Wright, 9 to Monty, 18 to St. Brown, 14 yard defensive pass interference that occurred in the end zone (with a very late flag)! Alright easy touchdown time!... no... Goff has intentional grounding on 2nd and Goal. Who cares anyway? Goff still connects with St. Brown and it's a 3 point game! For like 3 seconds because of fucking course New York responds. Just big fucking chunk plays until Winston to Isaiah Hodgins makes it a 10 point game again. Detroit's offense goes limp with a couple incompletions and a sack... okay so maybe losing Frank Ragnow was a... crucial fucking blow to this O-Line. Giants go 3 and out and with 4 minutes left to go in the half... I don't know let's give Gibbs fucking 49 yards to run because Gibbs is just fucking him. Goff to... well who else? Fucking Gibbs and it's a 3 point game again! But once again New York gets big ass chunk plays including a fucking 24 yard DPI call and another 26 yard pass later, New York is in field goal range.

Thankfully all New York gets is the field goal to make it 20-14 Giants. So in a single half we have already given up more points than we did against Philly... do the Eagles just suck? The kickoff is returned to the Lions 43 for short field. A quick 4 yard pass and then a 30 yard pass to Kalif Raymond to put the Lions in quick field goal range. To save the final timeout, Goff spikes the ball where then they'd get 4 more quick yards and the Bates 37 yarder is good to put us within 3 to end the half. It's a close game but I just fucking wish we weren't TRAILING to the Giants at half dude I mean it's ridiculous. But Lions did defer so they will get the ball back... annnd punt because despite a promising start, losing 3 yards on a pass to Gibbs, then a short 2 yard positive pass for Gibbs, Ineligible man penalty, and an 8 yard pass to Gibbs on 3rd and 16 would make Detroit fucking punt again. What you don't trust Bates to kick a 60 yarder? Giants would also have a promising looking drive but to which that also ends in a punt. Now let's get a good drive for once. From our own 10 we can start with a 30 yard pass to St. Brown! There we go! St. Brown is connecting! This is good! I am totally not jinxing it! 20 more to St. Brown! Yes! More! Goff goes to pass to St. Brown again! The ball bounces off St. Brown's hands! It lands in the hands of a Giants defender! That Giants drive ends in a trick play where WR Gunner Olszewski throws to Winston for a 33 yard touchdown! I'm going to piss myself! It's 27-17! I am pissing so hard! Thankfully the pissing stops when Gibbs once again shows he is him and runs for 49 yards to the end zone... okay seriously no one can fucking stop him! And here's where the Giants collapse starts because in ONE fucking play, Winston throws a pick and suddenly it's Detroit's ball! And suddenly they punt because they can't fucking capitalize off the pick. Of course. So much for 30 seconds of excitement. Oh my fucking goodness and the Giants converting a fucking 3rd and 17 too? How the fuck do you let that happen Detroit? And now the Giants are threatening to score 6 with a 1st and Goal at the fucking 4! Though hello here... Detroit's defense wakes up? Or maybe the Giants offense just fucking chokes.

On 4th and Goal from the 6, instead of just taking the points to threaten Detroit knowing they need a touchdown, the Giants go for it and they don't get it. Honestly? Even as a Lions fan, that was a horrible choice from New York. Why are you going for it? With 3 minutes left in the 4th, you could kick the field goal and then Detroit would absolutely have to get the touchdown. But no. Now you give Detroit a chance. Is it an easy chance? Uh... no not really. Though I did learn defensive delay of game penalties exist. I had no idea. But I guess if a defender knocks the ball out of the hands of an offensive player once they're already down, then it's a defensive delay of game. Even then Detroit can't convert a fucking 1st and 5. Incomplete pass to TeSlaa, Gibbs loses 5 yards, and then an incomplete pass to Gibbs. And now it's on fucking Bates to nail a 59 yarder. I mean hey he nailed a 62 yarder in the UFL. So no pressure right? Bates kick goes up... it looks like it's veering right... BUT IT STILL GOES THROUGH AND IT'S GOOD AND WE'RE GOING TO OVERTIME! UNBELIEVABLE WHAT IS THIS GAME? Giants try to get a drive going but then after an illegal use of hands call, concede regulation and take overtime where the Giants would win the toss and kick. No pressure Detroit. At least score 3 here... well of course the Lions don't have to worry about that... one play... ONE FUCKING PLAY! A SIXTY-NINE (nice) YARD RUN FOR WHO THE FUCK ELSE? JAHMYR (him) GIBBS! I tell you... Gibbs really carried this team like fucking hell. So now it's on Detroit to quickly stop New York on a 4th and 10 (no nevermind) Winston be like... oh shit here's an open path! And gets 11 to keep the drive going. Well fucking shit. So now New York is running down the field. And now it's 4th and 5 at the Lions 27. Can the Lions end the game here? YES THE FUCK THEY CAN! Big boy Hutch sinks Winston's ass to the ground, it's a turnover on downs, and the Lions win 34-27! Good grief what a stressful game. Given they played... the New York fucking Giants. Now yes let me say this... maybe as also a coper but... despite the Giants record, I don't think the Giants are as bad as they may look. If anything I'd say the Giants are a team that have the talent. They just need time to be grown.

The Giants have shown signs of fight and competitiveness. It just comes more down to when they need it most, they just can't quite finish the job and have blown a lot of late game leads like the Giants did here. The Lions knew this wasn't a pushover game. And they were right. The Giants were competitive. However that does still raise concerns about this Lions team. Detroit still played so fucking awful this week. Despite scoring 34 points, just overall they looked shitty. I mean fuck the Lions first lead was in fucking overtime. There are concerns about the O-Line too. If they can't protect Goff enough, it'll definitely hurt more come later in the season. And you know it's going to become a big fucking issue on Thanksgiving Thursday when the Lions play the Green Bay Packers in the revenge game. HOWEVER... I am holding out some tinge of hope the Lions will win that game. Biggest reason? Green Bay just hasn't really looked... uh... good lately. Hell you could argue it started back in week 3 when Green Bay lost to Cleveland. Tying to Dallas, not looking great against Arizona or Pittsburgh, fucking losing to Carolina, scoring all of 7 points against Philly, beating the Giants by a single score (although we did too). I do think the Thanksgiving game will be a good one.

Or Micah Parsons will sack Goff 15 times. That's also an option.
