Eh... partial revenge.

After being heavily upset at home in the divisional round last year, the Lions would head down to D.C. and seek revenge against a Commanders team... that doesn't have Jayden Daniels... or a competent defense... okay so Washington isn't really particularly looking... good this year. And it definitely showed this game.

Lions would defer so Commanders got the ball first. To which they go 3 and out. Holy crap the Lions didn't give up a first drive touchdown it's a damn miracle. So Washington's offense didn't do jack. Could Detroit's offense do jack? Uh... yeah apparently. It would take Detroit just over 5 minutes to just run down the field and ultimately give Gibbs a 14 yard touchdown! Holy shit John Morton actually did something with the of... wait... what's that? Excuse me? Dan Campbell is calling the offensive plays? Huh... well this should be interesting. Washington would end up doing a little more effort on offense. I guess Detroit's defense can't be that good for the whole game. However after a false start on 3rd and 10 and then only an 8 yard pass, Washington would settle for a field goal to make it a 4 point game. And then an 11 point game after Detroit scores yet another touchdown. I mean hell Washington's lack of a fucking defense couldn't stop a 16 yard reception for St. Brown, 12 yard run for Monty, 14 yard reception for LaPorta... I mean shit everyone's getting involved! St. Brown would get the 9 yard tuddy and it's 14-3! Albeit with Sewell getting hurt. Great... just a way to make my day "great" right? Washington would have like... 1 good 17 yard pass from Mariota to Robbie Chosen. And then that was all the fucking gas they had that drive and would punt the ball after Brian freaking Branch sacks Mariota for a loss of 13. Not worth it to to go for it on 4th and 22 QUINN??? What you went for it so fucking much on 4th down last year! Detroit would show absolutely no fucking mercy on their next drive. 28 yard Gibbs run here, 13 yard Raymond catch there, 13 yard touchdown Gibbs touchdown everywhere. Oh yeah... I guess Washington was so pissed off too. Awww I guess Daron Payne was a wittle cwybaby and wanted to give St. Brown a wittle shove. That's adorable get out of the fucking game you es oh bee. (yes i know videos surfaced showing st. brown starting it but still). So The Lions would go for a 2 point from the 1 to which Monty just shoves through everyone's ass and gets in making it 22-3. Well this is significantly a better start. Plus Sewell did come back into the game. So crisis averted. HUZZAH!

Because of the unsportsmanlike on Washington, Jake Bates would end up taking an intentional kickoff out of bounds penalty to put the ball at the 25 yard line. Funny how that rule works. Just wish Detroit's defense would do something. It doesn't help giving up a 41 yard pass to Jaylin Lane. From the Lions 14 yard line on 4th and 1, Quinn would elect to go for it and Ertz would get an 8 yard reception. Damn you Ertz. Commanders would make it a 12 point game with a Chris Rodriguez Jr. touchdown. Detroit's offense has shown light all game this week and it continued to show with an 18 yard pass to Kalif Raymond. Originally ruled incomplete but then Dan did what Dan does and throw his red challenge flag to which he is successful! 4th and 1 at the Washington 41? Of course go for it even though going for it on 4th down makes my BPM go up to 650. Thankfully LaPorta would pick up 14 yards. And then 4th and 1 again from the 18 and Raymond would get 10 more yards. I'm stunned my heart hasn't died yet. 4th and Goal from the 4? Of course you go for... oh... I guess they had Jake Bates kick a 22 yard chipshot to make it 25-10... well that's no fun you've been going for it on 4th down the whole drive and NOW you send in Bates? Speaking of Bates, he would intentionally kick the ball out of bounds again because of another Unsportsmanlike call on Washington. Okay seriously are you really this mentally hurt right now Washington? Wouldn't matter. Mariota just kneels the ball and Detroit would get the ball to start the 2nd half. I think Detroit forgot what a 2nd down was... and a 3rd down... and a 4th down because holy shit their first 2nd half drive was nothing but 1st down, 1st down, 1st down, 1st down, touchdown Jamo. Washington's defense... is officially dead... and so is Detroit's because Washington responded with a touchdown of their own. Unlike Detroit though, Washington can't get fucking 2 point conversions. Oh well it's 32-16 and a 2 score game. Make it 3 scores as while Detroit still couldn't get a touchdown, Bates would snag another 28 yarder chipshot to make it 35-16. I mean hell at this point all... points matter at this stage in the game.

Washington goes 3 and out on their next drive with Mariota being sacked by Branch and Roy Lopez. 12 yards to Ertz, and an incompletion to Deebo. Hey remind me... is Gibbs unstoppable? Uh... no... the fuck he isn't. He is uh... fast as fuck and runs for 43 yards right into the fucking end zone to make it 42-16. Scratch that... 41-16. Bates PAT is blocked and holy fuck that's 2 games in a row now the Lions had a kick block. I mean granted here it didn't mean shit but still. Washington would essentially get a garbage time touchdown to make it 41-22 as Ben Sinnot gets the score. Can the Commanders get a 2 point now? The fuck they can not. The onside kick fails miserably. Then again... nobody can do a fucking onside kick. The Lions and Commanders start to send in backup guys since the game is essentially over. Can't really come back from 22 points in under 7 minutes... okay well... you can? You'd need a miracle of course. That the Commanders do not get. Bates essentially seals the game with another field goal to make it 44-22. For some reason the Commanders choose not to go for it on 4th and 7 from their own 31. I mean seriously? I guess Washngton concedes defeat as Detroit would run just a few more plays and then Kyle Allen would take the knee to give Detroit a 44-22 win. It does even things up between the 2 teams even though Washington was hurt to fucking hell on both sides. A win is a next but next week against Philly will be a huge challenge. I'm not immediately expecting a win. I just hope Detroit can keep it close and competitive at least. And not get embarrassed like they did against Minnesota and Kansas City. That's my other concern. Detroit's 6 wins have essentially come against weak and injured teams. Bears - Weak, Ravens - Injured, Browns - Weak, Bengals - Injured, Buccaneers - Injured. If the Lions want to show they are truly as good as they look, Sunday night is essentially a must win... if the Lions lose on Sunday night...

Yeah we can destroy the fucking panic button.
