Lions march their way into Arrowhead to take on the Kansas City frauds... er... Chiefs. I mean the Chiefs hadn't looked great coming into this game. Starting 0-2, not playing great against the Giants, losing to the Chiefs. I thought this would be a good game... turns out it was anything but.

Lions won the toss and actually took the ball. Oh boy that's a gamble. Let's see if it pays off. Well so far it looks like it would. Detroit would have no issue marching down the field. Small plays but they are moving and getting 1st downs! Not even 5 minutes in and they were already in Chiefs territory. And with 7:42 left to go in the 1st quarter... Detroit is really damn good at making long drives... the Lions had 1st and Goal at the 8. Inch by inch they got closer and closer to the goal line. With 4th and Goal you know they went for it and... oh wait? What's this? Direct snap to Montgomery who throws the ball to Goff? HOHOHOOOOOHHHH BOY! JOHN MORTON YOU CRAZY SON OF A GUN I LOVE YOU! It almost went horribly wrong too. Goff stumbled the ball a bit but hung on to it and it's 6 to nothing... why are the refs talking? Why are they throwing a flag? oh you got to be fucking kidding me illegal motion on Goff? Yeah so apparently Goff needed to be set for like... 1 to 2 seconds and I guess he wasn't when the ball was snapped. And here's where the fucking controversy begins. So... from what it looks like, it was unfortunately the right call. Here's where the fucking issue is though. They awarded Goff the fucking touchdown. The ref looking at Goff put his hands in the air to signal touchdown. How the fuck do you miss the illegal motion? YOU WERE FUCKING LOOKING AT IT! Either that ref didn't know the rule or there was some other miscommunication. And then as Goff was speaking to the ref about what the fuck happened, the play clock was running down so there was another penalty for delay of game. Good grief this game just started. So Jake Bates had to sadly nail a 28 yard chip shot and it's 3-0 Lions. Hey... points are points. Now let's have the defense... not do a damn fucking thing because Patrick Mahomes apparently drank energy drinks before the game as in a blink of a fucking eye, the Chiefs are knocking on the door. Just like the Lions, the Chiefs also go for it on 4th and 3 at the Lions 6 annnnd Xavier Worthy scores. What no illegal motion there? XD! Butker missed the extra point so it's a 3 point game. I wonder how he'd feel if a woman kicked the PAT instead.

So now the Lions are pissed off and suddenly we have a 26 yard pass to LaPorta, 13 yard rush for Monty, 6 yard run for Monty, 1 yard pass to St. Brown... and then a 22 yard touchdown for Jamo. That made up for the bullshit on their first drive. Bates nails the extra point... take notes Butker. And it's 10-6 Lions! So with the Chiefs ball and holy fuck they still can't stop Mahomes. And Kerby Joseph is hurt? Oh great. Jack Campbell sacks Mahomes for... no loss. And with a 4th and 1 at the Lions 40, they go for it and of course Mahomes has legs. He gets 10 yards all by him fucking self. Hey at least Aiden Hutchinson sacks Mahomes and makes him fumble the ball! I do like that! Mahomes does recover it but now it's 3rd and 18! Surely they won't con-mahomes throws a 17 yard pass to smith-schuster and now it's 4th and 1. OH BOY THE CHIEFS ARE GOING FOR IT AND... the pass to Worthy is... incomplete! It's a turnover on downs! Oh! Huh! Nice! 2nd time we made the Chiefs turn the ball over in Arrowhead in the Campbell era. So now the Lions are looking to capitalize as they get some good yardage. 4th and 2 however at the Chiefs 44... Hey the Chiefs have been going for it. Lions will too dammit. There is to be NO PUNTING-st. brown couldn't secure the ball and the lions turn the ball over right back on downs. That's going to be the game killer isn't it? And of course the fucking Chiefs capitalize and score a touchdown. 13 to 10 Chiefs. Remember when I said no punting? Yeah so the Lions go 3 and out. And given Detroit's defense, I don't see good things happening. Remember when the Lions took the ball to start the game? Well yeah that bit them in their own kneecaps as the Chiefs would begin the 2nd half with a fucking touchdown. Despite starting at their own 19. Well then again I guess the Lions did once start in their own 2 in Baltimore and scored a touchdown. I mean fuck we are giving up 1st downs every time Mahomes throws the damn ball! So it's 20-10 Chiefs and Lions do fuck all to respond. Jamo had a nice 15 yard reception... and then nothing more after that. Though the Lions did for fucking once stop the Chiefs and send them to 4th down on their own 35. Too risky to go for it there. So the Chiefs punt the ball away!

Now the Lions are fucking cooking! 23 yard pass for Monty, 12 yard and 11 yard passes to St. Brown, another 6 to Jamo, 14 to Monty, 2nd and Goal at the Chiefs 4 and holy shit Sam LaPorta is just a legend here. A fucking clutch touchdown to make a 3 point game again! Now let's just stop the Chiefs-lol no we don't. The only time we send Kansas City to even 3rd fucking down this drive is 3rd and Goal on the Lions 3 to which Mr. Hollywood scores and it's a 10 point game again. And nothing good ever happes for Detroit again. Gibbs runs for a loss of 3. St. Brown gets those 3 back, Goff gets sacked for a loss of 4, Jack Fox punts. And then Kansas City just drains the fucking clock, forcing Detroit to use their timeouts, but hey... at least Al-Quadin Muhammad sacks Mahomes to force them to take a field goal! Wish we didn't allow any points at all. Can we score 13 points in 2 and a half minutes? No... no actually we fucking can't. Lions go 3 and out and Mahomes kneels the ball to end the game... welp that ends Goff's undefeated run against Mahomes. I know a lot of people will say the refs influenced this game. And... that is partially true. It does seem like there was a shit load of calls that should've gone the Lions way and were just never fucking called. People will scream the Chiefs had no penalties. Granted... they did. For the times they were penalized though, Detroit declined all of them. So don't be thinking there were no flags against the Chiefs at all. Plus the Lions defense looked like garbage. I mean... in all fairness it could've been worse. Still wasn't great though. I do think the Lions did sleep a little on this Chiefs team. Given the Chiefs were just beaten up by the Jaguars. I mean there was a brief moment where the Lions led. And even when they trailed it was by 3 points. Until the game got out of hand. Now yes granted I am now a little worried about the upcoming Buccaneers game coming up. I don't think that game is going to be easy. Now it will be back in Detroit and... boy it already feels like a long ass time since they were in Ford Field. I do expect the game to be close yes. Plus a lot of the Buccaneers wins have come from last second field goals. So I think... or... at least hope the Lions will be competitive and bounce back to a 5-2 record! If not then... oh boy.

Oh yeah... we'll also be out of a Brian Branch because his feelings got hurt. :(
